PowerView® Automation for Arches and Angles: Expanding Smart Control to Specialty Shapes

By popular demand, Hunter Douglas is pleased to announce that PowerView ® Automation is now available for operable arch and angle specialty shapes within the Alustra® Duette and Duette Honeycomb shade collections. Previously limited to static configurations, these unique architectural shapes can now be automated and seamlessly integrated into whole-home systems through Hunter Douglas PowerView Automation—enabling unified control and consistent functionality across every window in a space.

As the company’s most popular specialty shape, Arches will support all light-filtering and room-darkening Duette fabrics, both ¾” and 1¼” pleat sizes, and include robust power options with Internal Rechargeable Battery (IRB) and PowerView Solar Charger compatibility. To ensure a clean, finished aesthetic, Hunter Douglas has also introduced a new arch trim to blend seamlessly with modern interiors and deliver a polished look across diverse design styles.

Angles, the second most popular specialty shape in the Hunter Douglas portfolio, are also compatible with the same range of Duette fabrics and power options. This release introduces color-coordinated, field-trimmable headrail endcap extenders—designed to streamline installation, minimize corner light gaps, and deliver a precise, complementary finished look.

LightLock® Flex: Simplified Design, Smarter Installs and Retrofit-Ready Performance

In service to continued commitment to delivering field-friendly innovation, Hunter Douglas is introducing LightLock Flex, a next-generation update to its best-in-class room-darkening solution for Duette® and Applause® Honeycomb Shades. Developed directly leveraging dealer and installer feedback, LightLock Flex is precision-engineered to deliver the same unparalleled light-blocking performance as its predecessor, but with a significantly simplified design that enhances speed, flexibility, and ease of installation in both new and retrofit applications.

LightLock Flex features a lower-profile build and uses fewer components, enabling installers to reduce setup time dramatically – from an average of 30 minutes down to just 10 minutes through internal field testing. LightLock Flex is retrofit-ready for existing ¾” room-darkening Duette and Applause shades, requiring minimal clearance for installation. For increased flexibility in the field, the new solution can be ordered as an 84” parts kit, designed for easy on-site trimming and adjustment to fit a wide range of applications.

To support aesthetic flexibility, LightLock Flex is available in six designer-selected finishes including White Tiara, Aspen Snow, Aspen White, Rich Cream, Bronze, and Black. This collection ensures smooth coordination with both shade hardware and interior trim styles. Pirouette® A Deux: Dual-Function Elegance in Motion

Hunter Douglas is proud to debut Pirouette A Deux, an innovative dual-shade solution designed exclusively for PowerView® Automation. Up front is a light-filtering Pirouette® sheer shading whose softly contoured fabric vanes float on a sheer backing, gently diffusing daylight while preserving outward views. Behind it, an independently operated room-darkening liner delivers complete privacy and nighttime room-darkening. Both layers are housed in a newly engineered, larger headrail built expressly for this dual-function configuration—bringing unparalleled control, versatility, and style to any space.

Designed as an all-in-one shading solution, Pirouette A Deux gives users greater command over light, privacy, and ambiance throughout the day. Each layer is independently operated, allowing for precise control whether adjusting for glare during the day or creating a fully darkened environment in the evening.

Available in all light-filtering Pirouette fabrics up to 96″ wide and 96″ tall, Pirouette A Deux is ideal for bedrooms, media rooms, and other spaces that require both design impact and performance versatility.
