New Redundancy Features Provide Always On Dependability For Extron VCA 100

Extron has updated its VCA 100 Virtual Control Appliance with new redundancy and alarm reporting features designed to improve reliability and simplify AV system management. The new redundancy capability allows a backup VCA 100 to automatically take over if the primary system fails, helping organizations maintain uninterrupted AV control operations. Enhanced alarm reporting also sends email notifications to support teams whenever issues are detected within the redundant system.

The VCA 100 is built for enterprise-wide AV control and offers scalable virtual control processing without recurring licensing fees. With support for up to 30 virtual control processors through LinkLicenses, organizations can easily expand and centrally manage their AV environments. Extron says the latest update strengthens system resilience while giving customers a flexible and IT-friendly platform that can evolve with future requirements.

The VCA 100 Virtual Control Appliance has been updated with features that bring powerful new capabilities to the platform. The new redundancy feature enables a backup VCA 100 to automatically take over in the event of a system failure, creating a high-availability virtual control system. Redundancy adds an additional layer of protection to this already reliable platform. In addition, enhanced alarm reporting sends email alerts to support staff when any condition triggers an alarm in the redundant system.

“From the start, the VCA 100 was engineered as a long-term platform built to evolve,” says Casey Hall, Chief Marketing Officer for Extron. “With this update, we’re strengthening system resilience through redundancy and simpler day-to-day management, along with additional enhancements. Because our firmware is developed internally, we can adapt quickly as requirements change—helping customers protect their investment and get sustained value from their VCA 100 hardware.”

The Extron VCA 100 is a Virtual Control Appliance with integrated Virtual Control Processors (VCPs) designed for centralized AV control across the organization. The VCA 100 includes five VCPs, and organizations can use LinkLicenses to enable up to 30 IPCP Pro xi virtual control processors, providing scalable control for the enterprise without recurring licensing fees. Easily deploy these VCPs on your network, then add as many traditional control ports and user interfaces as needed by integrating control system expansion interfaces, TouchLink® Pro touchpanels, and Network Button Panels. Organizations will value the benefits of virtual control systems that are easy and fast to deploy, scale, and centrally manage. The VCA 100 is an ideal choice for controlling AV devices with an IT-friendly solution.
