Beyond the Microphone: Sennheiser Adds More Intelligence to TCCM Plus

At InfoComm 2026, Sennheiser introduced the TeamConnect Ceiling Medium Plus (TCCM Plus), a new version of its ceiling microphone designed to simplify integration, improve management capabilities, and expand audio coverage. During a conversation with AVNation’s Tim Albright, David Missall highlighted how the update reflects a broader industry shift toward software-enabled AV solutions.

While the TCCM Plus maintains the same physical design as the existing TeamConnect Ceiling Medium, several key enhancements have been added behind the scenes. One of the biggest updates is support for Sennheiser’s Partner Link initiative, which aims to streamline integration with third-party control and management platforms.

The first implementation comes through a collaboration with Q-SYS, allowing the TCCM Plus to appear as a native device within the Q-SYS Designer environment. Instead of relying on external application programming interfaces (APIs), integrators can configure microphone settings and Dante audio streams directly within the platform, reducing deployment complexity.

Sennheiser also expanded compatibility with its cloud-based Device Hub platform. Introduced earlier for the TeamConnect Bar solutions, Device Hub now supports the TCCM Plus, giving organizations additional options for device management and monitoring.

Another notable addition is a browser-based interface. Unlike the standard TeamConnect Ceiling Medium, which requires Control Cockpit for configuration, the TCCM Plus can be accessed directly through a web browser. This provides integrators with a faster setup option, particularly during initial deployments when network management tools may not yet be available.

Performance improvements were also part of the update. Sennheiser enhanced the microphone’s beamforming technology and increased pickup coverage from 40 square meters to 50 square meters, enabling broader room coverage with a single device.

Beyond the product announcement, Missall discussed the growing role of software in professional AV. While hardware remains essential, he noted that manufacturers are increasingly focused on creating software integrations that help products work more seamlessly within larger technology ecosystems.
