Listen Technologies Engages AuraFuturity to Increase Awareness of Auracast™ Broadcast Audio and Assistive Listening Systems

Listen Technologies and Ampetronic have partnered with hearing technology consultancy AuraFuturity to boost awareness and adoption of Auracast™ broadcast audio and assistive listening systems worldwide. Led by hearing technology expert Andrew Bellavia, the initiative focuses on educating venues, hearing care professionals, and end users about how Auracast can improve audio accessibility in public spaces such as theaters, concert halls, transit hubs, and houses of worship.

The collaboration aims to highlight the real-world benefits of Auracast technology, including better sound clarity, support for multiple languages, descriptive audio, and more inclusive listening experiences for people with hearing loss and neurodiverse audiences. Through educational content, speaking engagements, and outreach programs, the companies hope to accelerate the adoption of next-generation assistive listening solutions across the AV and IT industries.

Listen Technologies, a leading provider of advanced wireless listening solutions for 27 years, and Ampetronic, a global leader in hearing loop systems, have engaged AuraFuturity, a consultancy in the hearing, hearables, and broader communications markets, to increase global awareness and adoption of Auracast™ broadcast audio.

Andrew Bellavia founded AuraFuturity in 2022 to help innovators in the hearing industry with the goal of improving communication access for everyone. Bellavia is a 10-year Knowles Corporation veteran, co-host of the This Week in Hearing podcast, and a widely recognized thought leader in the hearing health and hearables space. Bellavia wears hearing aids and was an early adopter of Auracast broadcast audio for assistive listening.

”Studies have shown that when people cannot hear well, fatigue increases and recall is reduced. Furthermore, about 25 million people in the U.S. alone do not have measurable hearing loss but still struggle in challenging situations. Auracast provides a discreet way for them to use assistive listening with compatible earbuds in addition to those who wear hearing devices. That is why I am so excited to work with Ampetronic | Listen Technologies, a pioneer in the field, to bring the benefits of Auracast to more people.”

Increasing assistive listening awareness and technology adoption through education

Bellavia writes and speaks about Auracast for hearing care professionals, individuals with hearing loss, and anyone interested in hearing health. He also works with the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) to increase awareness and adoption of Auracast broadcast audio.

Bellavia often highlights installations of Auracast based assistive listening systems. He has interviewed venue managers and end users about their experiences installing and using the technology at locations such as the Sydney Opera House in Australia and the Marriott Theatre in Illinois. See examples of this here and here. In his videos, Bellavia has demonstrated how to connect to Auracast broadcasts and illustrated the difference in audio quality when end users listen via an Auracast based system.

Partnering to advance audio accessibility for everyone

“Education is needed to make people aware of the full value of Auracast with its versatility and multi-channel capability. It’s amazing to see people’s reaction when I describe the benefit for neurodiverse people, or how descriptive audio and multiple languages can be supported. In a live music venue, the sound quality provides a more intimate, enjoyable experience to every seat. My goal is to bring that level of understanding to venues of all kinds, for the benefit of everyone,” added Bellavia.

Listen Technologies and Ampetronic have engaged AuraFuturity to drive targeted outreach across venues, and to hearing care professionals and end users, bringing Auracast broadcast audio to more people in more places. Through content creation, speaking engagements, and direct education initiatives, AuraFuturity will work alongside the Listen Technologies and Ampetronic teams to demonstrate the real-world benefits of assistive listening and build the understanding needed to accelerate adoption globally.

“Andrew is a trusted thought leader with technical knowledge. He also brings an informed end-user perspective to the assistive listening experience. He is a champion of Auracast technology because he knows first-hand how transformative it can be in settings like theaters, concert halls, houses of worship, and transit stations to hear well effortlessly,” said Kasey Kaumans, national account manager, Ampetronic | Listen Technologies. “Listen Technologies and Ampetronic are committed to making audio accessible to everyone. In partnership with Andrew and AuraFuturity, we will continue to build awareness of Auracast broadcast audio, expand education about assistive listening, and accelerate the adoption of innovative, accessible audio solutions worldwide.”
