  • Waterfall Audio to Unveil Exclusive Loudspeaker Range on Selective Design Booth 2647 at CEDIA Expo

Waterfall Audio to Unveil Exclusive Loudspeaker Range on Selective Design Booth 2647 at CEDIA Expo

Since 1996, Waterfall Audio has specialized in glass-made loudspeakers, blending precision engineering and unique design to create luxury audio solutions. With over 23 years of innovation and global distribution, the company is renowned for its exceptional design and acoustic excellence.

Waterfall Audio is showcasing their Niagara XT series of floorstanding loudspeakers at CEDIA Expo 2024. The three models feature a transparent glass enclosure, custom mid/bass drivers, and JETSTREAM damping technology. The loudspeakers are designed for high-quality, precise audio for luxury home cinema and hi-fi projects.

Waterfall Audio’s Niagara XT range features transparent glass enclosures and custom Atohm drivers, offering unparalleled audio clarity and a visually striking presence. The JETSTREAM damping technology enhances performance by optimizing bass depth and smoothing frequency response. The choice of bespoke wood finishes adds a luxurious touch, making these speakers a standout choice for high-end home audio and media projects.

Waterfall Audio is excited to bring its era-defining Niagara XT range of floorstanding loudspeakers to the booth of its US Partner Distributor, Selective Design (2647), at this year’s CEDIA Expo (September 5-7, 2024, Colorado Convention Center, Denver, CO). Setting a supremely stylish, new landmark, the Niagara XT series marks a dramatic shift in loudspeaker design and performance for contemporary loudspeakers.

“We have created a beautiful new series for luxury home cinema, media room and hi-fi projects, using all our expertise in loudspeaker aesthetics, materials and performance,” says Cedric Aubriot, CEO and Founder of Waterfall Audio. “Niagara XT loudspeakers will provide a striking addition to any interior and deliver audio of magical precision and quality that will delight integrators, interior designers and their clients for many years to come. We warmly welcome all CEDIA Expo visitors to the Selective Design booth to experience for themselves this significant breakthrough in loudspeaker design and technology.”

The Niagara XT Series features three brand-new models which all produce a clear, richly detailed and powerful sound. Contained within a unique fully transparent platinum safety glass enclosure (XT2 and XT3: 0.39 inches thick; XT1: 0.24 inches thick), the Niagara XT Series comes alive in natural light, subtly reflecting and refracting sunbeams throughout the day. Custom built mid/bass Atohm drivers appear as if they are suspended in mid-air and are under-pinned by an ultra-low frequency 8.3 inches passive driver in a down-firing position in the solid, CNC-cut, brushed tapered aluminium base. Waterfall Audio will showcase both Niagara XT1 and XT2 models on the Selective Design booth.

Visitors will also be able to see how the drivers in the Niagara XT series are equipped with JETSTREAM damping technology, developed in house by Waterfall Audio, to maximise performance and ensure the mechanical decoupling of the mid-bass driver from the glass structure. JETSTREAM allows for a deeper and faster bass with a smoother response in the mid and high range, optimised heat dissipation and superb control of the rear wave on the cone.

The Niagara XT1 and XT2 each feature a signature wood horn tweeter. The XT1 (991mm height x 250mm width x 281mm depth / 400w output) and larger XT2 (1169mm x 300mm x 346mm / 500w output) are available in a Classic version with an oiled beech wood tweeter finish. An Exclusive option is proposed with alternative wood finishes, such as walnut, to suit the particular interior tastes of the client. Offering an infinite variety of colours, textures, grains, the wood is individually selected, paired and matched for each speaker. Other materials could also be chosen to further customize the tweeters of the XT1 and XT2 versions.

  • Severtson Screens Promotes Cable Drop Series of Motorized Projection Screens During CEDIA Expo 2024

Severtson Screens Promotes Cable Drop Series of Motorized Projection Screens During CEDIA Expo 2024

Severtson Screens, founded in 1986, is a provider of projection screens for home theater, pro AV, and cinema markets, known for innovation and quality.

Severtson Screens will showcase its Cable Drop Series of electric motorized projection screens (model CDT) at CEDIA Expo 2024. These screens feature a thin steel cable system for a clean look and versatile installation in various settings, including residences and large venues.

The Cable Drop Series offers a sleek design and multiple control options, including wireless and RS-232, catering to diverse installation needs. The update to 6-piece frames and the shift from a 2.35:1 to a 2.39:1 aspect ratio reflect Severtson’s commitment to quality and adaptation to industry trends, enhancing both visual performance and shipping efficiency.

Severtson Screens (severtsonscreens.com), a global leader in innovative and quality projection screens for the home theater, commercial, pro AV, and cinema markets, is pleased to announce it will promote its Cable Drop Series of electric motorized projection screens (model CDT) during CEDIA Expo 2024, held in Denver from Sept. 5-7 at the Colorado Convention Center, booth #4128.

Now available for order, the line is available in multiple projection surfaces and sizes to meet the needs of residences, and small and large venue installations.

“Our new Cable Drop Series is a collection of motorized electric screens that drop down on a thin steel cable, providing a clean look and versatile viewing experience,” explained Aaron White, Home Theater & Pro AV sales lead at Severtson Corp. “This unique system enables the screen to be lowered from very high ceilings in large venues, and eliminates the need for a large black drop area. The Severtson Tab Tension system also ensures that the screen’s viewing area will be flat. The industrial look of the Cable Drop Series makes it the perfect choice for residences as well as performance halls, churches, and other small and large venues.”

The new line can be operated in multiple convenient ways. The included wireless handheld RF remote control allows wireless control, the 5-12 volt trigger connection allows the Cable Drop Series to be automatically synchronized with the power cycle of a compatible projector, and RS-232 control enables advanced control of all screen functions. The powerful motor provides smooth operation, extended durability, and reliable performance.

The Cable Drop Series is available in a number of Severtson’s quality projection surfaces*, including:

    • Cinema White (1.3 gain)
    • Cinema Grey (1.0 gain) (max 220in. at 16:9 aspect ratio)
    • High Contrast Grey [HCNC] (0.7 gain) (max 168in. at 16:9 aspect ratio)
    • Rear Projection (0.8 gain) (max 265in. at 16:9 aspect ratio)

*coatings and perforation may also be available. Contact a Severtson sales representative for more information.

    Additional features include:

    • 12volt trigger connection via 3.5mm jack
    • Trigger cable
    • Power cable
    • Limit switch adjustment tool
    • Stylish cable drop mechanism
    • High gain white material provides industry-leading visual performance

Also, in response to recent shipping and logistical issues, 6-piece frames will be Severtson’s new standard moving forward. This will help to reduce shipping damages and provide a better experience for its customers. The screens will be of the same high quality standard the industry has come to expect from a Severtson screen.

The change will occur gradually over the coming months as supply of 4-piece frames is depleted. 4-piece frames will still be available on custom orders, with a lead time.

Finally, in recent years, the standard aspect ratios have shifted gradually wider. Movies are now almost exclusively produced at 2.39 or 2.40 aspect ratios. As a result, Severtson will be retiring the 2.35:1 aspect ratio as our standard, and migrating to 2.39:1.

2.35 screens will be shipped until Severtson’s supply is exhausted. 2.35 will still be available on custom orders, with a lead time. The prices and standard diagonal sizes will remain the same, only changing the aspect ratio. The new 2.39 drawings are currently available on our website.

Founded in 1986, Severtson Corporation continues to be a global leader in innovation and quality. The Severtson family’s extensive experience in manufacturing small home theater screens and large cinema screens has given Severtson Corporation the expertise to meet the needs of the professional and consumer AV markets for both indoor applications as well as large outdoor venues. With its modern campus encompassing multiple production operations including a state-of-the-art robotic application system, Severtson has massive production capabilities and an unusually wide array of screens. The screens range in size from massive movie theaters, comfortable home theaters, and everything in between.
