LG Announces New 54-inch dvLED Solution at InfoComm 2022

LG Business Solutions USA has unveiled a new video wall solution using 54-inch bezel-free LED Bloc displays that simplify installation and open up new design possibilities. In addition to a cutting-edge appearance with no dividing lines, the new LSAC series direct-view LED (DVLED) cabinets are designed to allow integrators to use existing VESA mounting hardware from previous LCD installations.

Introduced at InfoComm 2022, the new 54-inch DVLED cabinet is approximately four times larger in area than most commonly used DVLED cabinets, and its unique size allows integrators to easily utilize video wall spaces and infrastructure that previously used 55-inch LCD panels.

LG’s 54-inch DVLED cabinet will be on display in LG’s InfoComm booth #N2029 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, alongside a suite of other technologies designed to meet the needs of virtually any commercial environment.

“Our new 54-inch-cabinet LED Bloc display makes it easy for integrators to sell and install DVLED video walls,” said Dan Smith, LG Business Solutions USA’s vice president in charge of DVLED displays. “By combining cable-less connections* for power and content delivery, total dimensions that reduce the number of cabinets required, and one-to-one replacement of 55-inch LCD panels, we’re making seamless DVLED video walls more approachable for projects everywhere – from conference rooms and houses of worship to lecture halls and sports bars.”

LG’s first to utilize a 54-inch cabinet, this 600-nit, 2.5mm pixel pitch DVLED panels reduce the total number of cabinets and connections needed to form the same size display. Whereas a traditional 4×4 video wall made from 55-inch LCD displays requires 16 signal cables and 16 power cables, a comparable video wall using the new 54-inch DVLED requires just four signal cables and eight power cables.

“DVLED technology is currently the market’s best means to build video walls without any dividing lines,” Smith added. “This is a huge benefit for users, providing a more natural viewing experience and a higher-quality aesthetic than an LCD video wall with bezels in the middle of an image. This is ideal for public-facing installations and critical needs in business environments.”

The LG LED Bloc LSAC series can utilize a high-performance LG controller (sold separately) with webOS™ to provide compatibility with business-focused LG software solutions, including the SuperSign™ content management system, LED Assistant™, and ConnectedCare™** monitoring. Benefits over non-DVLED displays include long life expectancy, a 160-degree horizontal viewing angle, and a contrast ratio of up to 9000:1.

Interested parties should visit LG’s InfoComm booth to see a seamless 216-inch DVLED video wall composed of 16 LG 54-inch cabinets.

  • SoundTube® the Creator of the Pendant Speaker, Now Reinvents the Category with Mighty Mite

SoundTube® the Creator of the Pendant Speaker, Now Reinvents the Category with Mighty Mite

SoundTube, creator of The Original Pendant Speaker™ in 1985, has reinvented the category with the launch of the Mighty Mite pendant speakers. The new speakers, with both new styling and patented technologies that enhance performance, will debut at InfoComm 2022.

Mighty Mite was created to simplify installations for integrators. The UL-approved and patented Mighty Mite is the only full-range pendant speaker with a built-in subwoofer eliminating the need to install a separate subwoofer and subwoofer amplifier.

Mighty Mite’s redefined aesthetics give designers options for the pendant category they haven’t seen before. The sleek ultra-modern look and feel fit comfortably in any décor where design is as essential as sound quality.

    Mighty Mite is available in two models. The MM43-BGM is a 3-way pendant speaker with a 5.25” dual-chamber, band-pass subwoofer, a 4” woofer, and a .75” BroadBeam® ring tweeter, with high-frequency dispersion technology for wide off-axis coverage. The Mighty Mite MM32-EZ is 2-way pendant speaker with a 5.25” dual-chamber, band-pass subwoofer, and a 3” wide-range driver.

“We reinvented our original classic pendant speaker with a contemporary design and modern speaker technology. Integrators, resellers, and their clients will be amazed by the sound quality. The Mighty Mite is a game-changer for open-ceiling applications,” said Mike Sipe, Vice President of Sales. “These beautifully designed, high-performance pendant speakers will become the de facto solution for commercial audio applications for retail, hospitality, houses of worship, education, and corporate needs.”

Mighty Mite’s subwoofer with phase-aligned bass produces even, full-range coverage, smooth response, and loud, clean sound from one point of origin. With its built-in subwoofer and expansive coverage over larger areas than conventional pendant speakers, the Mighty Mite generates exceptional sound for music and voice applications. In addition, the speaker’s wide coverage capabilities mean fewer speakers are needed thus further reducing both hardware and labor costs for the project.

Ideal for paging, background music, foreground music and most open-ceiling applications, the Mighty Mites have a built-in 30-Watt transformer for standard 25/70/100-volt applications or can be used as direct 8-ohm speakers. The unique driver combination gives unprecedented phase-matched audio between the low, mid, and high frequencies.

Mighty Mite has an integrated hanging bracket at the top of the speaker and comes with UL-listed hanging hardware with cables and integrated SpeedClamp™ self-locking wire grip for fast, easy, and secure installation. Both Mighty Mite models are 22” high with a 7.4” diameter, weigh 14 lbs. and are available in silver, black and white. Mighty Mite will ship this summer.

  • New ‘LG CLOi GuideBot,’ an Autonomous Tour Guide, Debuts at InfoComm 2022

New ‘LG CLOi GuideBot,’ an Autonomous Tour Guide, Debuts at InfoComm 2022

LG Business Solutions USA has introduced the company’s first multi-purpose customer service robot, the LG CLOi GuideBot, which is designed to provide way-finding, enhanced security, powerful advertising opportunities, and valuable data on interaction times and usage. The robot’s friendly digital face, responsive voice activation, and two large touch screens are designed to revolutionize the customer experience virtually everywhere from museums and convention centers to movie theaters and hotels.

The LG CLOi GuideBot is making its official debut at Info-Comm 2022 at Booth #N2029 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, alongside the LG CLOi ServeBot, an autonomous indoor delivery robot to carry and deliver food, goods, and supplies.

“The GuideBot is the latest addition to the LG CLOi family of autonomous service robots, and it’s the first to tackle complex user interactions like answering voice questions, accompany-ing guests to their destination, and tracking how many times a motion-activated advertisement is displayed in a day,” said Jeffrey Weiland, B2B robotics team leader at LG Business Solutions USA. “This robot can greet, inform and entertain customers in a variety of settings and situations, from museum exhibits and movie theaters to corporate offices and hospitals, all while gathering valuable data on usage that can be used to streamline operations and improve customer experiences.”

The LG CLOi GuideBot stands just under five feet tall and greets everyone with a friendly smile on a unique 9.2-inch LG LCD “face” display. Using a high-quality microphone, 3D camera, and 18 sensors including LiDAR (light detection and ranging), ToF (time of flight), magnetic, bumpers, and IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), the robot can navigate busy spaces and react to approaching users with visual and auditory effects.

Offering nine hours of operation and a quick five-hour charging time, this robot is a reliable assistant that can travel 2.2 miles per hour (1 m/s) to respond to changes in foot traffic or even physically guide individuals to their destination. The dual 27-inch LG touch screens, located on the front and back of the robot’s main body, provide bright, legible canvases for both interactive and static digital content, like menus, maps, and videos.

The customizable functionality available in the LG CLOi Guide-Bot makes it the ideal workplace companion for various types of businesses. In hotels, the device can greet new guests and direct them to the elevators, the bar or answer questions about local attractions and restaurants. For museum patrons, it can deliver detailed exhibit information, including video content, interactive touch-based applications, sound playback, and vocal recitation of written info. It’s equally adaptable to corporate offices, government agencies, and even hospital environments, where lots of visitors regularly need to find their way around while maintaining an appropriate social distance.

In any location or situation, the LG CLOi GuideBot can also serve as a powerful addition to existing security solutions and act as an assistant for security staff. The robot has a “patrol” mode that navigates pre-planned paths and records surveillance video. In the future, teleoperation is expected to be added, which will allow security staff to “drive” the robot remotely to safely investigate security concerns.

“By reducing the human workload and automating some repetitive tasks such as giving visitors simple directions, our new robot can free employees to handle more demanding tasks and provide more attentive service,” Weiland said. “We can now envision museum tours being led by a friendly, responsive robot with access to vast catalogs of information and multimedia supplements to enhance exhibits and encourage deeper engagement and retention. At the same time, shopping malls can leverage GuideBot to provide basic security functions as well as wayfinding by escorting customers to stores.”

The flexible nature of the LG CLOi GuideBot provides many advantages for facility operators looking to create new revenue streams or enhance services. The advertisement feature can be used virtually anywhere the general public is present, so hotels can host ads for nearby attractions, or a movie theater can advertise its food and beverage offerings to people waiting in the ticket line. In conjunction with other LG CLOi robots, the GuideBot can form part of an always-on, data-rich ecosystem of autonomous assistants that lighten employee workloads and enhance safety.

The data that the LG CLOi GuideBot collects includes interaction time, distance traveled, advertisement playback time, number of uses, specific data requested by users, the most common searches or questions, and all of it can be viewed in real-time or saved for review. LG has developed a simple cloud interface to enable the fast creation of graphics and messages, including menu templates, background images, and more. The robot can deliver both on-screen and spoken announcements to inform guests that a store is closing or that hospital visiting hours are over. In a hospitality setting, a custom menu on the touch screen could allow guests to book a spa appointment or make a reservation for a restaurant down the street.

Visitors to LG’s InfoComm booth #N2029 can experience the robot’s performance and capabilities. The LG CLOi GuideBot offers language support for English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. The robot is currently compatible with Hanwha, Platbread, Mindslab, and Clo-bot solutions, making it easy to integrate with existing systems.

Leon Ente SoundTiles Brings Art and Audio to High Design Reception and Hospitality Spaces

The Leon x Mike Han collaboration is a series of three paintings titled “Detroit Vibrations” that were created by Han exclusively for Leon. The pieces are being released as Leon’s latest Artist Edition Collection for the Ente SoundTile, a product that transforms the stereo system into unique pieces of wall art to seamlessly blend design and technology in reception areas, hospitality spaces, corporate boardrooms, executive offices, and more. Each Ente SoundTile conceals two channels of reference-grade audio and an amplifier, such as Crestron’s AMP-X300 amp, behind a perforated metal speaker grille with selected artwork screen-printed on top. Other Artist Edition Ente SoundTile collections will also be showcased at InfoComm 2022.
