ResiWeek 370: I’m An Alarmist?

Chet G. Peters Strikes Again

While we can still write for ourselves before the robots take over, let’s look at the latest news coming out of the residential side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is AV veteran and author Kat Wheeler, and Chief Content Officer for CE Pro Jason Knott.

We start with the story that Matt has been clamoring not to do for a while, and that’s because it concerns artificial intelligence. Josh.ai has been exploring the use of ChatGPT and that further demonstrates the potential for what systems like this can do for our industry. Is it going to take our jobs like Matt is afraid of, or bring us into some horrible Brave New World? We discuss the potential uses (and risks) of artificial intelligence for the industry as a whole.

Next, we look at accountability and responsibility when handling a business. Knowing who is responsible for a specific job can create accountability within an organization and make a cohesive unit. We talk about where accountability lies in leadership and the value of trust in a business.

Finally we look at outdoor audio and the aspects of designing a solid system for the client outside of their home. MSE Audio’s Ken Hecht writes about the different considerations to take in the outdoor environment when it comes to audio solutions. We look at what it takes to make a great experience in the outdoor space.
