ResiWeek 379: Availability of Disposable Income

Hey Mr. DJ, I Thought You Said We Had A Deal

It’s time to get all of the latest news and stories from across the residential side of AV. Joining us this week is CE Pro’s new Editor-in-Chief Arlen Schweiger and Founder of ProAudio Georgia Steven Brawner.

Last week we talked about Jason Knott’s move from CE Pro to D-Tools. This time, we’re not only talking about the person moving onto his position at CE Pro, we’re talking with him! Arlen Schweiger has been appointed the new Editor-in-Chief, and we talk to him about what that means for him moving forward.

Next we look at what defines the modern audiophile. Arguably the article is just a way to become a dealer of a speaker manufacturer, but the question they pose about that it means to be invested in audio these days is interesting. We discuss the evolution of what it means to be an audiophile and how integrators can guide those enthusiasts with their knowledge.

Finally, we talk about design considerations for a guest-friendly home. Smart home solutions can be entertaining in their own right, and having control of your own space is something the CI channel strives for, but that all falls apart when someone enters your home and can’t even turn on the lights. Is there a middle ground between bespoke and standard?
