ResiWeek 400: Elevating Professionals

Tact & Professionalism

Whether we’re on a really nice round number or just another day at the office, we’re committed to bringing you the biggest stories from the residential side of the AV industry. Joining us this week is Owner of ProAudio Georgia Steven Brawner and Content Specialist for CTI Patrick Norton.

First we look at raising professionalism within the custom integration channel. Pete Baker looks at reducing bad interactions with clients and suggesting better accountability for projects. How can integrators deliver themselves and their porducts to customers that show that the industry is one that can be taken legitimately and seriously?

Johnson Control might have sensitive security information compromised. The alarm and building automation company was the victim of a recent cybersecurity attack, which information includes DHS floor plans. The rule about security is that it’s not a matter of if, but when systems are breached. Even still, security measures are never on the front of a client’s mind until it is too late. How do we show that having systems in place for security and keeping them secure is a valuable choice not just for them, but their customers?
