PureLink adds 6G-SDI for 4K systems

Addition Enables Further 4K Applications via Company’s Flagship Line of Digital Cross-Platform Devices

RAMSEY, NJ, March 23, 2018 – PureLink, a leading manufacturer of 4K/UHD video signal management solutions for professional and residential A/V markets world-wide, announced today the availability of a 6G-SDI input card for its full line of PureMedia professional digital A/V distribution systems. The 6G/HD-SDI input board (model number PM-SIS4-6G) is the latest component to expand the 4K capabilities of the entire PureMedia line of offerings, adding to the HDMI, DVI, HDBaseT, fiber, and Quad-View 4K cards already available. The 6G-SDI standard is twice as fast as 3G-SDI and uses just one BNC cable to send UHD/4K signals with a total payload of 5.940 Gbps.
PureMedia matrix switchers are fully scalable, from 8×8 to 256×256, and proven to work consistently and seamlessly with a long list of UHD/4K devices, providing a controllable and reliable HD ecosystem. These products serve a multitude of markets, including the broadcast, corporate, educational, house of worship and digital signage verticals. With flexible configurations and a variety of technology platforms available, these systems also support automatic fail-over to a hot spare power supply for quick and easy field replacement, eliminating downtime and the risk of system failure.

The PM-SIS4-6G is compatible with all chassis configurations, and features automatic detection of HD, 3G, and 6G-SDI signals, as well as 4:2:2/4:4:4 color sampling and 10-bit processing for high quality video transmission. It accepts SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, and 6G-SDI signals and supports a variety of resolutions. The addition of this new input card simplifies systems by eliminating the need for additional hardware such as format converters and video scalers. With the 6G-SDI signal processing capabilities, PureMedia eases the transition to Ultra HD in many SDI environments, from broadcasting to security & surveillance, while leveraging existing investments in HD and SD equipment.
“Taken as a whole, the ability to have 6G-SDI signals in a slot card frame with so many other formats and resolutions is a big win for our customers,” stated Keith Frey, PureLink’s Senior Product Manager. “A fully 4K modular digital matrix switcher, that is cross platform, with reliable 6G-SDI capabilities now allows even further applications in the broadcasting vertical, especially with 4K cameras and disk recorders,” concluded Mr. Frey.
