The ATEN “Simply Better Connections” trademark win
IRVINE, CA – ATEN International, the leading supplier of IT and Professional AV equipment connections management solutions, announced that its subsidiary, ATEN Technology Inc. (“ATEN Tech”) has successfully protected the trademark “SIMPLY BETTER CONNECTIONS” against an infringement by Arris International (NASDAQ: ARRS). After a nearly year-long dispute, both parties have reached a settlement. ATEN International has been persistent in its protection of their corporate image and intellectual property.
ATEN Tech, the owner of the “Simply Better Connections” trademark was forced to pursue Arris and its affiliate Ruckus Wireless who have long been using ATEN Tech’s trademark, without authorization. When ATEN Tech learned about and the infraction, they asked Ruckus to stop its unauthorized use. Ruckus nevertheless took a strong stand and refused to comply forcing ATEN Tech to protect its rights against Arris legally. After a year-long battle, Arris decided to extend the olive branch and settle, quickly reaching an agreement. Arris acknowledged that ATEN Tech is the owner of the trademark “Simply Better Connections” and promised not to use the said trademark in the future.
