The companies’ combined solution delivers personalized, broadcast-quality productions
ESP xMedia and Matrox present a game-changing, cloud-based, multi-camera platform for live event and sports production workflows. Leveraging the Matrox Monarch EDGE 4K/multi-HD encoder, live event producers can now send up to four exceptional-quality, low-latency Full HD camera feeds to ESP xMedia’s global cloud video platform, ESPxCloud (www.espx.cloud), and allow viewers to select from and switch between multiple broadcast-grade camera views.
Purpose-built for 4K and multi-HD webcasting, Matrox Monarch EDGE enables live event producers to create original user-selectable, multi-camera productions. The powerful H.264 encoder captures and delivers the on-site program feed and multiple alternative viewing angles, each at Full HD resolution, to the ESPxCloud video platform. ESPxCloud’s elastic streaming technology then showcases the main window video content at high resolution, with the other secondary viewport windows set at lower resolutions, and switches when viewers change viewports. When required, multiple Monarch EDGE appliances can also be combined to support even more primary, secondary, or even tertiary camera views. In addition, coupled with Monarch EDGE’s multi-channel synchronization support, ESPxCloud empowers viewers to switch between viewports synchronously while leveraging the following additional actionable elements:
- Personalize: Content producers can ingest any number of video feeds associated within a single live event so viewers can choose their own combination of feeds such as in-game sights or camera views of their favorite players.
- Interact: Viewers can participate in multiple open or multi-moderator controlled public chat rooms with fellow event enthusiasts, or form a private room for text, audio, or video chat with friends.
- Engage: Content producers can push quizzes, polls, surveys, and feedback within the live stream via call-for-action dialogs triggered from the producer’s real-time control dashboard for viewers to respond instantly.
- Monetize: Content producers can push clickable advertisements banners as well as on-screen action buttons for viewers to buy merchandise, make a donation, or tip within the live stream.
