CEDIA Expo 2021 Welcomes Back In-Person Attendees

CEDIA Expo 2021 held its annual convention in Indianapolis, IN after two years of cancellations and virtual events. The convention, held August 31 – September 3, 2021, brought back residential technology integrators, designers, and trade professionals to connect and discuss industry topics.

Group Vice President of CEDIA Expo & KBIS, Emerald Jason McGraw said CEDIA put on a solid event, even if it wasn’t how he envisioned it. “While all of our community was not able to participate with us this year, we were pleased to stage a safe event that was meaningful and informative for those who participated. This year’s show provided the first opportunity in two years for attendees and exhibitors to spend quality time, building relationships face to face,” McGraw said.

CEDIA Expo 2021 hosted 82 exhibitors, 25,000 NSF of exhibits, and 1400 verified attendees. The event boasts solid attendance with 42% of attendees holding titles of president/owner/partner/CEO. Both key decision-makers and first-time attendees participated in product demonstrations and show floor networking.

Program highlights included strategic partner IMCCA speaking to the growing “work from home” segment. Spatial Inc., receives recognition for its real-time, interactive immersive audio solutions. Blackdove also received  recognition for its digital art systems.

The TechStarter program celebrated innovator Guard Dog as 2021’s TechStarter winner. “So many technology companies got their start exhibiting at CEDIA Expo, and we’re thrilled and humbled to be recognized as we launch our dealer program here. We’re in such, such tremendous company,” said Kelly Ryan, Guard Dog’s VP of sales and business development.

All recorded on-demand programming is available on CEDIA Expo Connect until October 31, 2021. Check out AV Nation’s coverage of CEDIA Expo 2021 on our website. CEDIA Expo 2022 will be held in Dallas, Texas September 29 – October 1, 2022.
