Extron Ships Small But Mighty AV over IP Encoder

AV over IP goes small, brings big

Extron has unveiled its latest innovation, the NAV E 121 encoder, part of the award-winning NAV Pro AV over IP series. This compact, half-sized encoder packs the same performance punch as competing models despite its diminutive form.

Whether tucked beneath a lectern or rack-mounted with other gear, the miniature NAV E 121 enables table-top and larger-scale deployments. It retains staple Extron capabilities like an HDMI local monitor output and RS-232 control. The encoder also supports the AES67 audio over IP standard for integrating with Extron DSPs and other IP-enabled audio hardware.

Anaheim, California (January 10, 2024) – Extron is excited to introduce the NAV E 121 compact encoder, the latest addition to the award-winning NAV Pro AV over IP Series that’s now shipping. The NAV E 121 streams ultra-low latency, high quality HDMI video and audio over 1 Gbps copper Ethernet and standard IP networks. This new economical NAV encoder is just half the size of competing encoders, yet it offers the same ground-breaking performance as other NAV products. Featuring the Extron-patented PURE3 codec, the NAV E 121 delivers real-time streaming of visually lossless video at resolutions up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and ultra-low latency over 1 Gbps.

“Extron’s engineering team designed this compact, economical NAV encoder, which features the industry’s most advanced technology in an efficient, convenient form factor,” says Casey Hall, Chief Marketing Officer at Extron. “Whether you need to install encoders under presentation furniture or mount multiple encoders in an equipment rack, the incredibly compact size of our newest NAV encoder supports the widest range of applications.”

The NAV E 121 features an HDMI 2.0 loop-thru for local display or confidence monitoring and an RS-232 control port. Support for AES67 audio over IP facilitates integration with Extron’s broad range of audio DSPs or other IP-enabled audio components. NAV systems can be deployed as a high-performance IP-based video and audio matrix, combining the flexibility of an IP-based system with the integration-friendly features found in Extron conventional matrix switchers. Purpose-built to support demanding professional AV applications, the highly scalable and powerful NAV platform enables secure distribution of AV signals to thousands of endpoints
