The SDVoE Alliance Unveils Three Dynamic Demonstrations at InfoComm 2024

SDVoE Alliance is a nonprofit consortium promoting Software Defined Video over Ethernet, standardizing Ethernet adoption for professional AV environments and creating an ecosystem for software application definition.

The SDVoE Alliance will feature three interactive booth demonstrations at InfoComm 2024, focusing on eco-friendliness, unmatched performance, and high-quality visual formats within the SDVoE ecosystem. These demonstrations include a CODEC Shootout comparing SDVoE Pixel Packing CODEC to an ASIC-based solution, a KVM & BlueRiver Bitmap Streamer showcasing advanced KVM control and graphical overlays, and a 5K HDMI Point-to-Point Extension demonstrating high-resolution image transmission.

The SDVoE Alliance aims to showcase the innovative capabilities and potential of SDVoE technology to revolutionize AV signal transport, management, and display. By providing hands-on demonstrations, the Alliance seeks to highlight the superior performance, flexibility, and eco-friendliness of SDVoE solutions, attracting attention from professionals seeking cutting-edge AV technology at InfoComm 2024.

The SDVoE Alliance, a nonprofit consortium of technology providers collaborating to standardize the adoption of Ethernet to transport AV signals in professional AV environments, will feature three booth demonstrations at InfoComm 2024. These interactive showcases will spotlight the eco-friendliness, unmatched performance and high-quality visual formats available within the SDVoE ecosystem. The demonstrations will take place in the SDVoE Alliance’s booth, C8157, at InfoComm 2024 from June 12–14, 2024, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

“At InfoComm 2024, the SDVoE Alliance will share three hands-on demonstrations to showcase the eco-friendliness, high-performance, and future-ready capabilities of SDVoE technology,” said Stephane Tremblay, president of the SDVoE Alliance. “Through these interactive demonstrations, we aim to highlight SDVoE’s capabilities and the potential to revolutionize the way audiovisual signals are transported, managed and displayed in diverse applications. We invite attendees to visit our booth at InfoComm 2024 to learn more about the capabilities of SDVoE technology.”

CODEC Shootout

The CODEC Shootout highlights the next evolution in image quality. The decoded video output of an SDVoE endpoint is compared head-to-head with an ASIC-based solution. On two dedicated displays, observers will experience the superior image quality of the high-performance SDVoE Pixel Packing CODEC against the highly compressed ASPEED JPEG2000-based 1G solution. Controlled via a touchscreen controller, users can explore various source and display configurations, including Multiview, a feature that is uniquely supported by SDVoE technology. This demo showcases the power and flexibility of SDVoE while highlighting the limitations of competing solutions.

KVM & BlueRiver Bitmap Streamer

The demonstration highlights the future of KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) control with an immersive demonstration featuring the BlueRiver KVM Software Development Kit. Attendees will experience seamless mouse roaming across multiple PC desktops on a single display, dynamically switching control from one PC to another as the mouse roams across a Quad Split multiview layout. Utilizing hotkeys, users can lock the USB mouse and keyboard control to a specific PC or transition to full-screen mode effortlessly. Additionally, attendees will witness the innovative capabilities of the BlueRiver Bitmap Streamer tool developed by Semtech, which enables graphical overlays describing the source content.

5K HDMI Point-to-Point Extension

The interactive demonstration will showcase the HDMI point-to-point extension of a 5K60 4:2:0 image format using compact, cost-effective and energy-efficient SDVoE endpoints, with guaranteed reach performance up to 100m over standard Cat-6a cable. The 5K HDMI Point-to-Point Extension demo showcases the emerging 5K format, ideal for ultrawide desktops and video conferencing applications. Attendees will experience the seamless integration between a PC equipped with Nvidia graphics and an ultrawide 5K monitor, delivering unparalleled resolution and clarity for immersive collaboration experiences.
