At InfoComm 2026, Tim Albright talks with Joe Andrulis of Biamp about the company’s latest collaboration and control announcements. The conversation highlighted Biamp’s expanded focus on Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform (MDEP) solutions and a new approach to workplace control.
Biamp introduced three new unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) platforms: the UCX 1000, UCX 2000, and UCX 3000. Built for the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform, the solutions are designed to support Microsoft Teams Rooms deployments across small, medium, and large meeting spaces.
According to Andrulis, MDEP provides an Android-based operating system backed by Microsoft’s security, lifecycle support, and management capabilities. The tiered product lineup allows organizations to match features and performance requirements with room size, helping customers optimize deployment costs.
Beyond the compute platforms, Biamp also introduced a broader ecosystem designed specifically for meeting environments. The portfolio includes dedicated touch panels, microphones, and amplifiers developed to integrate with the new UCX solutions. Andrulis noted that Biamp’s long history in audio helped shape products that address the performance and budget requirements of conferencing spaces.
Biamp also announced Workplace Control, a new control platform built on the company’s existing Workplace infrastructure. The solution combines device connectivity, security, communications, and access management into a single environment.
The platform aims to simplify control system design and deployment by enabling users to discover devices, understand organizational permissions, and deploy control experiences across locations more efficiently. Biamp said the solution is designed to support users ranging from entry-level programmers to experienced control professionals.
As organizations continue to standardize collaboration technologies and simplify room management, Biamp’s latest announcements reflect the growing demand for integrated ecosystems that combine conferencing, audio, and control within a unified platform.
For AV integrators, IT managers, and workplace technology teams, Biamp’s MDEP portfolio and Workplace Control platform represent a significant step toward more streamlined meeting room deployments.
