As audiovisual systems become increasingly connected to enterprise networks, AV teams are being asked to deliver the same level of visibility, accountability, and performance reporting expected from IT departments. At InfoComm 2026, Tim Albright talks with Mike Gleason of Utelogy about how organizations can use data and analytics to better understand and manage their AV environments.
According to Gleason, many organizations still struggle to answer three fundamental questions about their AV operations: How many service tickets are AV-related? What are their mean time to detection and mean time to resolution? And what service-level agreements (SLAs) exist for conference room uptime?
These metrics are standard practice in information technology and cybersecurity, but AV teams often rely on reactive support models. Gleason noted that many organizations still discover room issues only when users report them, making it difficult to measure performance or demonstrate value to the business.
Utelogy aims to close that gap by giving AV teams access to operational data that aligns with existing IT workflows. The platform aggregates information from AV devices, management platforms, and collaboration ecosystems into a single dashboard, helping organizations track room health, uptime, and system performance.
The company has developed more than 1,500 drivers supporting over 4,500 AV device models. Utelogy collects data directly from endpoints while also integrating with management platforms such as Neat Pulse, Poly Lens, and Control Hub, along with collaboration platforms used throughout the enterprise.
Beyond monitoring and analytics, Utelogy enables teams to manage and control systems directly from the same interface. This allows AV professionals to identify issues proactively and resolve them before users enter a meeting space.
