Sony Introduces New 4K PTZ Cameras with Optional AI at InfoComm 2026

At InfoComm 2026, Sony showcased two new PTZ cameras designed to address a variety of professional AV and collaboration applications. Speaking with Tim Albright, Drew Buttress from Sony highlighted the company’s latest additions to its PTZ lineup: the SRG-AS10 and SRG-XS10.

The two cameras share many of the same core specifications. Both feature 10x optical zoom lenses, support 4K 60p output, and offer HDMI connectivity alongside IP streaming capabilities. The primary difference is that the SRG-AS10 includes built-in AI for auto-framing, while the SRG-XS10 does not.

According to Buttress, Sony intentionally developed both versions to match different deployment needs. Applications such as telemedicine carts or fixed meeting spaces may not require AI-powered presenter tracking, making a non-AI model a practical option. For environments where speakers move around a room, the AI-enabled version provides automated framing capabilities designed to keep presenters in view.

The new cameras also offer flexibility for AV workflows through support for multiple streaming protocols, including Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP), Real-Time Messaging Protocol Secure (RTMPS), Secure Reliable Transport (SRT), and NDI HX. This allows users to select the streaming method that best fits their existing infrastructure and production requirements.

Installation flexibility was another key theme during the discussion. The cameras can be powered either through a 65-watt USB-C power supply or Power over Ethernet Plus Plus (PoE++). With a single network connection, users can deliver power, video transport, and camera control across the same cable, simplifying deployment in classrooms, meeting rooms, healthcare environments, and other professional AV spaces.

Sony also noted that the cameras will be available in both black and white finishes. Availability dates and pricing were not specified during the interview.

For AV professionals evaluating PTZ camera options, Sony’s latest releases demonstrate a practical approach to product design. By offering both AI-enabled and non-AI versions with identical core performance, the company provides customers with greater flexibility to match technology investments to specific application requirements.
