  • DisplayNote invites digital signage providers to drive more value from meeting room screens by bringing collaboration and signage together.

DisplayNote invites digital signage providers to drive more value from meeting room screens by bringing collaboration and signage together.

DisplayNote is inviting digital signage providers, resellers, and workplace technology integrators to unlock more value from meeting room screens by combining digital signage with one-touch collaboration. By layering DisplayNote’s collaboration software over existing signage setups, unused meeting room screens can switch seamlessly between signage mode when idle and collaboration mode when meetings begin, making better use of existing AV investments.

Working alongside NowSignage, DisplayNote is showcasing this approach at ISE 2026 in Barcelona, demonstrating how organisations can simplify screen experiences, reduce complexity, and improve ROI. The combined solution helps IT teams deliver consistent, easy-to-use meeting spaces while also supporting internal communications, wayfinding, and brand messaging across the workplace.

Northern Ireland, 21st January, 2026 Belfast-based DisplayNote, which provides the experience operating layer that sits on top of room hardware to orchestrate collaboration, communications, and shared screen experiences today announced an open invitation to digital signage providers, resellers and workplace technology integrators to collaborate on enhancing digital signage capabilities in meeting spaces by layering DisplayNote’s call and app launching software alongside existing signage deployments.

DisplayNote’s aim is to help the industry create simpler, more consistent screen experiences across the workplace building an ecosystem of easy-to-use collaboration tools for meeting spaces.

Join us at ISE 2026 (3–6 February 2026), where DisplayNote will be meeting with signage and AV stakeholders to explore opportunities and shared customer use cases.

The opportunity: display screens spend much of the day underused

Across many organisations, shared screens are not in active use for significant portions of the working week. Workspace utilisation benchmarks have reported average meeting room utilisation of around 30%, leaving substantial “idle time” where screens are either powered down or showing non-purposeful content a missed opportunity for internal communications, wayfinding, brand messaging and ROI.

The approach: one screen, two modes

DisplayNote is working with NowSignage, a cloud-based digital signage CMS provider, to demonstrate how meeting room hardware can serve a dual purpose:

    • Full-scale digital signage when the room is idle, managed through NowSignage
    • One-touch collaboration when the room is in use, enabled through DisplayNote Launcher

DisplayNote Launcher is designed to create a consistent, walk-up experience in meeting spaces supporting call and app launching, screen sharing, and simplified room interaction. NowSignage provides a cloud-based CMS that helps teams manage and distribute signage content across multiple displays.

What this means for the channel:

For digital signage providers, resellers and AV/IT integrators, combining signage and collaboration capabilities can support:

    • Expanded service scope across workplace communications and meeting room experiences
    • Additional recurring revenue streams through managed services and software licensing
    • Better utilisation of existing hardware, maximising return on AV investment
    • More use cases driving more usage, supporting renewals and hardware refresh cycles
    • Reduced complexity, with fewer points of failure when hardware and software are validated as fit for purpose

What this means for end customers:

For enterprise workplaces, local government estates, education settings and multi-site organisations, the combined approach can help:

    • Enable more use cases from the same screen estate
    • Create a consistent on-screen experience across meeting rooms and shared spaces
    • Improve workplace communications and engagement, without compromising meeting room usability
    • Reduce IT overhead, by consolidating screen experiences and management
    • Lower support tickets, by simplifying “how to connect” moments and standardising room workflows
    • Support ROI goals, including the option to use signage content to offset meeting room costs where appropriate

“Digital signage has transformed workplace communication, but meeting rooms remain one of the most under-utilised screen environments in many estates,” said Ryan McElvaney, Channel Manager, DisplayNote. “Our message to the signage market ahead of ISE is simple: let’s make meeting space screens work harder without making them harder to use. We’re enabling partners to collaborate with us to bring signage and one-touch collaboration together in a way that’s simple, secure and scalable.”

“Customers want consistency a screen experience that supports both communications and collaboration, without adding complexity,” said Richard Hutchinson, Global Sales Director, NowSignage. “By combining NowSignage’s cloud CMS with DisplayNote’s meeting room experience, organisations can get more value from the screens they already have, while keeping content management straightforward across multiple sites.”

  • Powersoft Launches AnyMATE and SpeakerMATE Bringing Intelligence to Passive Loudspeakers

Powersoft Launches AnyMATE and SpeakerMATE Bringing Intelligence to Passive Loudspeakers

Powersoft has announced the launch of AnyMATE™ and SpeakerMATE™, new technologies designed to bring intelligence and connectivity to traditionally passive loudspeakers. Unveiled at ISE 2026, these solutions allow passive speakers to communicate data such as identity, status, and diagnostics directly over existing speaker cables, without requiring network connections or external power. This approach fits well with real-world installed audio environments where legacy cabling and long cable runs are common.

SpeakerMATE is the first real-world application of the AnyMATE platform, enabling automatic speaker detection, monitoring, and metadata access through Powersoft’s Armonía+ software and cloud tools like MyPowersoft. For IT-focused audiences, the key value lies in reduced infrastructure complexity, improved system visibility, and better remote monitoring, turning passive loudspeakers into smart, manageable endpoints within modern AV and IT-integrated environments.

Powersoft is set to unveil AnyMATE™ and its first implementation, SpeakerMATE™, on booth #7F300 at ISE 2026, marking a significant step towards smarter, more connected installed audio systems. The new technologies are designed to add identification, monitoring and data exchange capabilities directly to passive loudspeakers, without the need for additional network cabling or external power.

For years, the professional AV industry has focused system intelligence on active devices and IP-based infrastructure, while passive loudspeakers have largely remained disconnected endpoints. AnyMATE addresses this imbalance by enabling communication over existing speaker lines, allowing the amplifier to act as a communication hub for both audio and data.

AnyMATE is a communication technology based on a proprietary protocol and a patent-pending physical-layer implementation. Rather than relying on Ethernet or wireless connections, AnyMATE exchanges data directly via an amplifier’s output channels. This makes it possible to identify and monitor downstream devices without deploying a separate control network, aligning closely with the realities of installed audio environments that often feature long cable runs, Hi-Z architectures and legacy infrastructure.

Developed within Powersoft’s R&D department over more than a decade, AnyMATE has been refined through extensive internal testing before being brought to market. Importantly for system designers and integrators, the technology is not limited to new installations. Where amplifiers have sufficient current-sensing and processing capability, AnyMATE can be introduced into existing systems by adding compatible downstream hardware, making it suitable for retrofit projects in sectors such as transport, retail and large venues.

SpeakerMATE represents the first practical application of the AnyMATE platform. The compact hardware module establishes communication between amplifiers and passive loudspeakers and can be deployed either as an external add-on near the speaker or integrated directly by loudspeaker manufacturers. For retrofit applications, SpeakerMATE connects in parallel with the speaker line via quick-splice connectors and requires no dedicated power supply, simplifying installation and minimising downtime.

Once installed, SpeakerMATE devices are automatically discovered and configured through Powersoft’s Armonía+ software. Additional data can be written to the device in advance, including speaker brand and model information, enabling the system to suggest appropriate presets and helping to reduce configuration errors during commissioning.

Beyond identification, SpeakerMATE incorporates a temperature sensor, accelerometer and microphone, with the option to interface with an external sensor via a GPI port. These features enable new levels of monitoring and diagnostics for passive loudspeakers, including temperature and tilt measurement, on-demand sound pressure level testing, and access to detailed metadata such as installation notes, serial numbers and lifecycle history.

When integrated with cloud-based services such as MyPowersoft, accessed via MyUniverso, SpeakerMATE allows system status and anomalies to be monitored remotely. This capability supports faster fault-finding, preventative maintenance and reduced site visits, particularly valuable for large, distributed systems such as shopping centres, airports, stadiums, cinemas and theme parks.

Powersoft is introducing AnyMATE as a platform rather than a single product, with the potential for future expansion and licensing to third-party manufacturers. By embedding intelligence into existing infrastructure, AnyMATE and SpeakerMATE can transform passive loudspeakers from silent endpoints into active participants within the networked AV environment.

Claudio Lastrucci, R&D director at Powersoft, comments: “These technologies demonstrate the importance we place on investing in research and development, constantly striving to raise the bar when it comes to innovation in the audio sector. Our passion lies in innovating outside of conventional norms, looking to how we can develop both products and platforms which deliver exceptional performance and seamless workflows. It’s exciting to see AnyMATE’s application in SpeakerMATE, and this is only the beginning for a technology which we are sure is going to make a huge impact.”

To find out more about AnyMATE and SpeakerMATE and the wider Powersoft portfolio, visit the Powersoft team on booth #7F300. ISE 2026 takes place at Fira de Barcelona, Gran Via, from 3 – 6 February.

Sony plans to showcase the new series at Integrated Systems Europe 2026 and InfoComm 2026.

Sony Electronics Inc.’s latest direct-view LED (dvLED) displays, the Crystal LED S Series, are mid-market options providing high visibility even in bright environments thanks to its brightness, accurate natural color reproduction and low reflection optimized for a diverse range of uses in corporate settings, educational institutions, and commercial facilities. The two thin new models, the ZRD-S12G and ZRD-S15G, feature 800 cd/m2 of maximum brightness and a 1.25 and 1.56 mm pixel pitch, respectively. These scalable displays, planned to be available in late spring 2026, serve as a high-quality, cost-conscious option that addresses the growing needs of customers.

“The S Series furthers Sony’s longstanding commitment to offering advanced technology with high image quality, exceptional visibility, flexible integration capabilities, and long-term reliability – all of which provide our customers with inspiring visual experiences that offer value, while enabling creativity,” said Rich Ventura, Vice President, Professional Display Solutions, Sony Electronics. “With these new models, Sony is strategically expanding our display lineup to ensure we have the right choices to address common requests, support varying budgets, provide a range of options, and ensure consistency that bridges the gap between our BRAVIA professional displays and dvLED products.”

High-Impact Images, Even in Brightly Lit Spaces

Featuring an impressive 800 cd/m2 brightness, the Crystal LED S Series also offers the same Anti-Reflection Surface Technology in Sony’s BH Series of Crystal LED displays. Together, this enables rich image expression and accurate color reproduction, even in ambient light environments or spaces featuring large windows.

    Simplified Installation

The S Series’ thin design promotes ease and flexibility in installation. Boasting a slim cabinet with a thickness of approximately 45mm/1.8 inches, representing a 35% reduction in depth, the models streamline installations, and are able to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance when combined with appropriate wall mount frames. Additionally, the S Series offers smooth, seamless integration with NovaStar’s flagship high-end COEX series, MX30 and MX40 Pro controllers. By using the NovaStar controller, the distance between cabinets and the controller can be extended up to 100m which will contribute to installation flexibility.

    Engineered for Long-term Use

The new options also contribute to a reduction in ownership costs, resulting from energy-efficient operation – including a cool surface temperature – and low power consumption. Pre-calibrated modules enable precise installation, and ease of service for simplified maintenance add durability and flexibility. Additionally, the Crystal LED S Series is equipped with surface protection that helps prevent accidental contact and promote longevity.

    Flexible Setup

The Crystal LED S Series is a scalable and modular solution that features a bezel-free design to enable the construction of seamless video walls of various sizes and configurations.

The Crystal LED S Series is expected to be on display at Integrate Systems Europe (ISE) in Barcelona, Feb. 3-6, 2026, and InfoComm in Las Vegas, June 17-19, 2026.
