  • Carousel Digital Signage Integrates with CrisisGo to Empower Safer School Communities

Carousel Digital Signage Integrates with CrisisGo to Empower Safer School Communities

Carousel Digital Signage has partnered with CrisisGo to enhance school safety by delivering real-time emergency alerts to digital displays. Using an open API and the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP), the integration allows schools to instantly broadcast safety messages, interactive maps, and critical alerts through Carousel Cloud digital signage networks. This ensures rapid communication during emergencies, helping schools respond swiftly and effectively.

This partnership leverages CrisisGo’s Safety iResponse platform, known for its advanced alerting and incident management features, to provide a seamless safety solution. The integration ensures alerts reach the right screens across campuses, supporting efficient emergency response and reunification processes. While the focus is on K-12 schools, the solution is also adaptable for corporate enterprise and manufacturing environments.

Carousel Digital Signage announces a new technology partnership with CrisisGo that enables K-12 schools and businesses to deliver emergency alerts and other safety messages to digital displays with immediacy. The integration is enabled through an open API that triggers visual alerts, interactive maps and more to Carousel Cloud digital signage networks via the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP), a global standard that supports the digital exchange of emergency alerts and public warnings over multiple networks.

CrisisGo’s Safety iResponse platform offers a comprehensive suite of advanced alerting software and tools that empower school districts to create safer and more secure learning environments. Its features include real-time alerting, incident management and parent notification, all of which combine to help schools respond to emergencies in an efficient and effective manner. The platform also immediately shares emergency alerts with local law enforcement when police assistance is needed.

Direct integration of the two software platforms on a common IT network ensures consistent monitoring of incoming triggers from Safety iResponse to Carousel Cloud. Upon recognizing an incoming alert, Carousel Cloud disseminates the active alert as a priority for instant takeover of all  targeted screens. Upon resolution, Carousel Cloud immediately removes the alert and resumes normal operations, eliminating the need to schedule expiration times or manually clear the system. That accelerates the important process of reunification to ensure all students, teachers and other staff members are accounted for and safe.

“Carousel Cloud’s ability to recognize an all-clear message is a differentiator from other digital signage solutions that we have evaluated,” said Jacob Lewis, Chief Security Officer, CrisisGo. “Carousel Cloud will also recognize the type of event our system is addressing and exactly where the alerts need to go, which could be select screens, schoolwide, or across an entire multi-campus network. This seamless interoperability represents an important step in our multimodal strategy for mass notification, which also includes delivery to all computers and mobile devices that are connected to our software.”

The CrisisGo partnership represents the latest technology integration between Carousel Digital Signage and emergency alerting platforms aimed at strengthening school safety in K-12 environments. Lewis says that while K-12 remains the top priority for CrisisGo’s integrated solution with Carousel, he anticipates potential expansion into other verticals including corporate enterprise and manufacturing.

“Our collaboration with CrisisGo represents the next step in our efforts to keep students and faculty informed, safe and resilient across all grade levels,” said Eric Henry, SVP of Business Architecture, Carousel Digital Signage. “Carousel Cloud’s open platform enables clean and reliable interoperability with CrisisGo, and our common integration with the CAP protocol ensures immediate dissemination of important visual alerts that will help school districts keep all campuses safe and secure.”

    • Monitor and review student 3D capture projects with the highest possible quality
    • Exhibit 3D content at the Cannes XR Marché du Film

    The Solution

    • Leverage roughly 4 million pixels per eye delivered by the Spatial Reality Display
    • Take advantage of the Unity system to render graphics in real time

    The Outcome

    • Enables highly accurate, impressively detailed 3D visualization
    • Stops traffic at trade show exhibits
    • Establishes a powerful, new modality for content viewing

    A man of many parts
Krzysztof Pietroszek isn’t easily impressed. His professional journey includes a PhD in computer science and an MFA in film, while his personal journeys have taken him to the summits of Mont Blanc and Kilimanjaro. He has produced an award-winning feature film, developed VR video games, and published more than 40 peer reviewed research papers. Now he is incorporating Sony’s Spatial Reality Display into his work.

“While we have reliable although not perfect technologies for capturing what we call ‘holograms,’ displaying them well has been limited to glasses that nobody has,” says Pietroszek. “And even if you have the glasses, you’re limited to maybe 100,000 vertices. That means you’ve got to scale down high-quality capture. The Spatial Reality Display gives you the ability to show much, much higher resolution. And you can make the display interactive. You can put your hand out and interact with the object.”

Impressing the film community at Cannes
On behalf of the start-up he founded, Tabletop Stories, Pietroszek brought Sony’s Spatial Reality Display to an exhibit at the Cannes XR Marché du Film. “When people were passing by, they would catch a glimpse of it and stop! They needed to see what it was and how it happens.”

Tabletop Stories presents movies in AR, typically shown on smartphones and tablets, where the story content is overlayed on the real-time camera image of the room. Pietroszek says, “The difference is huge between showing AR on a tablet – on which the content is supposedly in air – and seeing the same content on the Spatial Reality Display, actually in air without glasses. People are really surprised.”

“At its heart, immersive filmmaking breaks the fourth wall. This display enables you to do it with much, much higher resolution.” -Dr. Krzysztof Pietroszek, American University & Tabletop Stories

Teaching immersive filmmaking at American University
Pietroszek teaches a class in volumetric capture. “We capture with a single camera and Depthkit software, which is affordable and very easy to use. It’s not true volumetric capture because you get one-sided holograms – half a person. But for an introductory class, it’s great. The Spatial Reality Display is very good for this. We can rotate it toward you and it works well.”

Pietroszek finds the Spatial Reality Display more useful than multi-view 3D monitors. “For my applications, the multi-view monitors don’t really work. The resolution is really, really low. You need multiple, multiple images. And the angle of view is so small that they don’t really make sense.”

The Spatial Reality Display and Unity rendering
The Sony Spatial Reality Display enables viewers to see volumetric 3D without special glasses or VR goggles. 1.2 The display works from computer generated images, in the case of American University, using a Windows® PC running the Unity® rendering engine.3 “We train students on Unity,” says Pietroszek. “It’s super easy to get the content on the display. It works without any issues. It just plays.”The screen features a high-precision micro-optical lens to separate the left-eye and right-eye images. In addition, the display tracks eye movement down to the millisecond, pivoting the image in sync as the viewer tilts or moves the head up and down, left and right — even forward and back. The result is an overpowering sensation of a solid 3D object.

    Future Prospects
Pietroszek sees multiple future applications for the Spatial Reality Display. “I would definitely recommend this for demos and trade shows and for specialized applications like 3D modeling. And I’m working on a telemedicine project. We have this idea of using volumetrics so that remote experts can assist inexperienced doctors.”

Set to be showcased at ISE 2025 in Barcelona (Feb 4-7) – Philips Stand 3P500 – the chic, bezel-free Philips Interactive 3000 Series marks a new generation of advanced, highly flexible multi-touch Android SoC displays from PPDS, presenting content as it was meant to be seen, with razor-sharp accuracy, colour precision, and brightness.

An update to the popular Philips T-Line Kiosk display range, the new Philips 3000 Series has been remodelled to fit market feedback and configured utilising the latest advancement in hardware, PCAP touch technology, and software. Bringing the flexibility to support a broadening range of installations, retail (including shopping centres), transport hubs, as well as food and beverage, are among key market verticals.

Andrea Barbuti, Global Product Management Lead for EMEA at PPDS, commented: “With the Philips T-Line Series, we raised the bar for how and where interactive displays can be used to bring new business benefits and enhanced user experiences. And now, with this new Philips Interactive 3000 Series, we’re significantly raising that bar again, adding unprecedented versatility and opportunities to an even wider audience.”

    Tilting the balance
Offered in an extended range of 24” (back by popular demand), 32”, 43” and 55” model variants, the Philips Interactive 3000 Series has been designed and equipped to meet any challenge, delivering premium performance, unparalleled reliability, and flexibility to any space.

Updated for 24/7 operation, and repurposed in consultation with partners and customers, the Philips Interactive 3000 Series extends beyond traditional portrait and landscape mounting limitations, with all models now featuring a 30-degree tilt option, as well as optional open frame brackets, opening new installation possibilities and enhanced creativity.

The request for tilted displays continues to grow, particularly for kiosks, with businesses looking to extend or renew their existing interactive displays beyond smaller screens, such as tablets. Concerns around security? The Philips Interactive 3000 Series also features a secure ‘Kiosk Mode’ feature, disabling any unauthorised remote control, management or tampering for peace of mind.

Lutz Harder, Global Product Manager for Interactive Displays at PPDS added: “Whether on a shelf – ideal for the 24” – angled or upright for POS, configurators, order points and kiosks – with the 32” and 43” – or for wayfinding – with the 55”, the installation possibilities and benefits with the Philips Interactive 3000 Series are seemingly endless.” And that’s just the start.

    Let’s be clear
With an unquenchable desire to deliver unparalleled viewing and user experiences, the Philips Interactive 3000 Series from PPDS has been designed to cope with brighter lighting conditions and even the grubbiest of fingers.

Available as standard, each Philips Interactive 3000 Series model is equipped with a stunning edge-to-edge PCAP touch screen, while also being augmented with anti-glare and anti-fingerprint coating, allowing for perfect presentation, regardless of the number of fingers coming into contact between cleans.

Need a screen that will be exposed to ever-changing lighting environments? No problem. The Philips Interactive 3000 Series delivers optimum performances at all times, with the 24” and 32” models providing up to 350 cd/m2 brightness, while the larger 43” and 55” models are equipped with 450 cd/m2 for better visibility and user experiences.

Lutz Harder explained: “If you can’t see or use the screen, be it due to brighter light, irritating reflections or simply because it is covered in greasy fingerprints from customers who have just finished their lunch, then it is a failed experience. With Philips Professional Displays the user experience is paramount and for this new Philips

Interactive 3000 Series the team has worked to ensure screens can be easily cleaned and will perform to the highest standard – all the time.”

Plug and play with Android 13
Internally, the Philips Interactive 3000 Series helps to make the lives of AV/IT managers easier, while also delivering instant sustainability benefits and credentials – including financial – with every installation.

Part of PPDS’ ever expanding Android SoC family, Philips Interactive 3000 Series displays come with an updated professional Android 13 SoC built-in, offering a seamless plug-and-play experience. With 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM as standard, there is no need for an external media player, with content able to be uploaded directly to the display for instant viewing.

For complete peace of mind, the Philips Interactive 3000 Series also features PPDS’ renowned FailOver technology, ensuring screens never go blank, and content will continue to be presented, 24/7, even in the event of an outage.

    Staying in control
Whether a single display or many installed around the world, the Philips Interactive 3000 Series offers extensive remote monitoring, maintenance, and management capabilities – whether for single displays or installations around the world – with Philips Wave.

Developed in-house by the PPDS team, the scalable API-first Philips Wave platform, allows users – either locally or centrally – to unlock the full power, versatility, and intelligence of their displays, for greater time, energy, and cost efficiencies.

Firmware and software updates, adjusting settings, predictive maintenance, content creation and scheduling, are just some of the remote features available on the Philips Interactive 3000 Series with Philips Wave, while the ProStore provides a ‘one-stop digital marketplace’ for access to their preferred applications and services, with zero concerns around compatibility.

Coupled with the benefits of Philips Wave, the Philips Interactive 3000 Series has also been heavily designed – inside and out – with sustainability and the environment in mind. Mirroring other Philips digital signage and LED models, the Philips Interactive 3000 Series has been reconfigured to run with reduced power consumption – without compromising on performance – versus previous models in the Series. All models also feature automatic backlight control, intelligently adjusting the brightness to suit lighting conditions, while ensuring perfect visibility and viewing experiences at all times.

The Philips Interactive 3000 Series is immediately available globally. Additional demonstrations will be available in PPDS’ growing estate of PPDS Studio showrooms, located across EMEA, North America, and in India.

Andrea Barbuti concluded: “The Philips Interactive 3000 Series is unquestionably one of our most versatile, most advanced and sustainability driven interactive displays to date, bringing untold installation opportunities across a vast number of market verticals. There’s no better place to showcase the Philips Interactive 3000 Series than at ISE 2025. Managed remotely through the Philips Wave ecosystem, they offer predictive maintenance and superior content control, making them a game-changer for industries where color precision and real-time performance are essential.

PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips Professional, is delighted to announce a new technology partnership with True Performance, drawing upon its highly advanced proprietary control system for Pantone Validated colour performance, automatic calibration, and near-zero latency, together with a forthcoming range of advanced Philips dvLED displays, all produced in Europe.

Trade-ready for government and MOD settings, including TAA compliance, this latest high profile partnership continues PPDS’ focus and commitment to delivering world first and world class ‘total solutions’ in the dvLED market space, adding extensive opportunities and unique capabilities for mission critical environments, where data security and video quality are paramount.

Founded in 1992 and based in Kassel, Germany – and with an international team and footprint – True Performance specialises in the research, design, development, and production of cutting-edge LED solutions for professional and commercial applications.

Made in Europe Extending PPDS’ growing portfolio of TAA compliant, military grade secure displays – which includes Philips Signage 4000 Series D-Line and Philips Videowall X-Line – the new Philips True Performance dvLED solution, including both panels and controller, will be produced and calibrated in Europe, further elevating PPDS’

position as a reliable and trusted trade ready global supplier to a broadening range of markets, including command and control rooms in both the public and private sectors.

In the US, specifically, the partnership will further open opportunities for PPDS when competing for US Government projects, providing a broad portfolio of TAA compliant solutions to support all executive departments, from Defence, Education, Homeland Security, and Transportation, all the way through to the White House.

    Synched brilliance

Soft launched at ISE, and setting new standards in visual perfection, with the combination of technologies from both PPDS and True Performance, customers can enjoy up to 7680 x 4320 resolutions, 240Hz frame rates, advanced greyscale and colour fidelity, plus near-zero latency, ensuring optimum conditions for reproduction via camera systems.

Jeroen Brants, Global Product Director dvLED for PPDS, said: “For this new range we are augmenting the already proven benefits of our leading Philips Unite LED line up with new functionality from True Performance to create a brand new total solution. The production in Europe makes it even more compelling, with our global product managers and technical support based here, and many of our customers requesting a made in Europe solution and TAA compliance. And of course, with the colour accuracy that can now be achieved, it makes this ideal for our partners needing that perfect brand representation, for instance, with Oracle Red Bull Racing.”

True Performance’s technologies broke new ground in 2024, with the company becoming the world’s first dvLED solutions provider to be Pantone Validated and Pantone SkinTone™ Validated, certifying and ensuring colour accuracy.

Relied on by more than 10 million designers and producers around the world, Pantone is a recognised leader in colour development and communication, providing a benchmark for colour capability and accuracy on monitors and displays. Pantone SkinTone™ Validated certifies the displays can authentically reproduce a diverse set of skin tones.

This provides new opportunities beyond command and control environments, equally beneficial for businesses in which clarity and colour accuracy are vital. Where nowadays most imaging is digital in the design and review phase, design studios in automotive (and other manufacturing) showrooms, fashion brands, virtual production, high end conference and board rooms, public venues (such as museums) will

benefit from Pantone colour accuracy. With near-zero latency, it is also a desirable solution for TV studios, live broadcasting (such as in stadiums) and even eGaming.

    Automatic calibration born in Europe

Ensuring optimal performance and colour consistency at all times, the new Philips LED displays and control system will benefit from ‘automatic calibration’, a unique and intelligent algorithm and feature that ensures colour calibration is performed just once in the European factory, after which it is automatically adjusted for the lifetime of the product, including for any panel replacements.

These Philips True Performance LED displays will also be developed to feature remote management via the Philips Wave ecosystem, bringing unparalleled display management and content control, as well as predictive maintenance opportunities.

Yury Romov, CEO of True Performance, commented: “We are excited to partner with PPDS to bring our True Performance technology into these new Philips Professional Displays. Together we bring a unique proposition into the global market, and we are thrilled to be showcasing these benefits on the Philips stand 3P500 at ISE 2025 in Barcelona.”

Martijn van der Woude, VP Global Marketing and Business Development at PPDS, added: “At PPDS, we have adopted an open approach to the way we do business. We can’t do everything ourselves and there are some truly fantastic technologies in the market that, in partnership, bring augmented benefits and even greater choice and value to our partners and customers. This technology partnership with True Performance adds new strengths to both our businesses and we look forward to the opportunities ahead.”

    • Empower the dentist with the SmileFy design app and the Spatial Reality Display
    • Enable the patient to preview the design in interactive, volumetric 3D

    The Outcome

    • Expected to reduce patient “chair time” and accelerate smile design
    • Expected to increase “try-in” as patients see a more accurate, more persuasive preview
    • Expected to make results more predictable, reducing the need for adjustments

A new dimension in smile design and display
There was a problem with restorative and cosmetic dentistry, Ralph Georg, CEO & founder of SmileFy, understood. The workflows were far too time consuming. The results were far too uncertain. And the patient buy-in to treatment programs was far too hit-or-miss. Georg applied the latest digital tools to create the app that would become SmileFy. According to Georg, “Dentists deeply appreciate how our tools empower them to design, present and implement treatment plans faster and better. But until now, we were always limited by 2D display.”

“We humans are exquisitely sensitive to subtle differences in the shape of smiles – and the way smiles interact with the shape of the face,” says Georg. “2D presentation can never convey all those subtleties. So when Sony demonstrated high-resolution glasses-free 3D with the Spatial Reality Display, we jumped at the opportunity.”

    Glasses free-3D
The Sony Spatial Reality Display enables viewers to see volumetric 3D without special glasses or VR goggles. The display works from computer generated images, in the case of SmileFy, using a Windows PC running the Unity game engine software. The display features a high-precision micro-optical lens to separate the left-eye and right-eye images. In addition, the display tracks eye movement down to the millisecond, pivoting the image in sync as the viewer tilts or moves the head up and down, left and right—even forward and back. The result is an overpowering sensation of a solid 3D object. Support for the Spatial Reality Display will be available to SmileFy Gold Plan subscribers at no additional charge.

    Transforming restorative and cosmetic dentistry

“The SmileFy process begins with digital patient files, including conventional photos, 3D facial scans and Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scans. After the image capture, the SmileFy app enables the dentist to design a smile, taking into account face shape and asymmetries as well as specific patient requests and concerns. The result is a digital mock up that the dentist can show the patient for review and approval of the treatment plan. “It can take up to ten business days to get a traditional, outsourced mock up,” says Michelle Carpio, partnership development manager at SmileFy. “And each design change needs to be sent back to the lab. With the 3D digital doppelganger, changes can be made with a few clicks.”

Carpio expects the display to make a huge difference when the dentist proposes a treatment plan. She says, “Dentists are telling us they anticipate getting the green light from more patients because the 3D is so persuasive. The potential is obvious.” “Ralph Georg is already looking toward the future. “In the long run, 3D is going to change not just presentation, but also treatment. This is going to change everything. It’s a new standard of care.”
