Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
The summer is finally here, but those in the higher education space know that it just means things are only going to heat up from here. Joining us this month to look at the latest stories around education and AV is Assistant Director of Multimedia Services for Drexel University Rob Rasberry, Director of AV Services for the University of Arkansas Ernie Bailey, Director of Client Services for Bates College Scott Tiner, and AV Services Manager for the University of Redlands Luis Garcia.
We start off looking at the future of trade shows, penned by one Scott Tiner. There have been plenty of opportunities for those in the higher education space to find value in shows like InfoComm and Integrated Systems Europe. However, this year’s InfoComm 2023 show is one of the first where HETMA, the Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance is working in tandem with AVIXA during the show. HETMA has their own space on the floor and more opportunities than ever to connect tech managers with others in the AV space. Will this be the way moving forward?
Next we look at the potential possibilities of integrating artificial intelligence with existing systems. We’ve touched a little bit on a previous episode about AI in the higher education space, and mulled over what’s really machine learning and what’s actually artificial intelligence, and now we look at where AI can benefit the higher education space.
Strive AV completed an overhaul of systems at five schools across three campuses in Essex. What’s amazing about this is that they took only 12 days to install AV within 147 different classrooms. Said classrooms were fitted with BENQ interactive displays of different sizes depending on the space. We discuss the challenge that made this possible and how to make your own projects go as smoothly as this.
