Biamp Delivers Architecturally Integrated Audio System for Premium Adelaide Office Tower

Biamp, a leading provider of professional audiovisual solutions, has delivered a sophisticated background music system for 30 Pirie Street, a premium office tower in Adelaide, Australia. Working with Australia-based integrator Professional Technology Partners (PTP), Biamp offers an architecturally sensitive audio solution that enhances the building’s welcoming atmosphere, masks unwanted noise, and operates with minimal intervention—critical requirements for the state-of-the-art property owned by Quintessential.

“The challenge was balancing first impressions with conversation clarity,” said Chad Penley, General Manager, Professional Technology Partners. “In the foyer and atrium, we needed music that felt welcoming but didn’t dominate. In the bike storage, we had to mask mechanical noise while keeping speech intelligible. And everywhere, the speakers had to blend seamlessly with the premium architecture.”

PTP selected a comprehensive solution from Biamp to address these requirements across four distinct zones: the main Pirie Street foyer, the atrium, the rear entrance off Rundle Mall, and the bike storage area. The system features Biamp Voltera D-series amplifiers and Tesira DSP for processing and distribution, Desono pendant speakers in the atrium for architectural integration, and Desono in-ceiling speakers throughout other areas for discreet coverage. An Apprimo touch panel provides concierges with intuitive control, while Biamp Workplace automation handles day-to-day operation.

The Biamp Workplace platform proved essential for minimizing operational complexity. The system automatically adjusts throughout the day based on pre-programmed schedules, requiring virtually no staff intervention. When concierges do need to adjust, the Apprimo touch panel presents just three simple volume sliders—one for each zone—that automatically reset to default levels each morning.

“Biamp Workplace was the game-changer,” said Penley. “It handles everything automatically—music starts and stops on schedule, volumes adjust throughout the day, and the system resets itself every morning. The concierge team doesn’t need training or technical knowledge. They just have three sliders if they want to tweak anything, and even those reset daily so nothing gets left in the wrong state.”

The completed system delivers crystal-clear, zoned background music that enhances 30 Pirie Street while addressing the building’s acoustic challenges. The architecturally sensitive speaker placement maintains the building’s sophisticated aesthetic, while the automated operation ensures reliable performance with minimal staff involvement. The networked Biamp infrastructure also provides Quintessential with flexibility to expand or modify the system as tenant needs evolve.

  • Biamp Elevates the Guest Experience at One & Only Kéa Island with Flexible, Multi-Zone Audio Solutions

Biamp Elevates the Guest Experience at One & Only Kéa Island with Flexible, Multi-Zone Audio Solutions

Biamp, a leading provider of professional audiovisual solutions, announced the successful deployment of a comprehensive audio system at One & Only Kéa Island, a luxury resort located on the Greek island of Kéa. Designed to complement the resort’s refined aesthetic while delivering exceptional sound quality, the Biamp solution provides seamless, independent audio control across a wide range of indoor and outdoor guest spaces.

One & Only Kéa Island required a flexible, future-ready audio system capable of supporting diverse environments throughout the property, from tranquil spa areas to vibrant social spaces, without compromising design intent. The solution needed to deliver consistent performance, intuitive operation for staff, and ease of managing multiple zones.

“Luxury environments constantly evolve, and the systems behind them need to evolve just as seamlessly,” said Joe Andrulis, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Biamp. “The flexible, networked architecture deployed at One & Only Kéa Island gives the resort the control it needs today, with the confidence to scale and adapt in the future.”

To meet these requirements, the resort implemented a distributed, multi-zone Audio-over-IP architecture based on the Dante protocol, enabling reliable digital audio transport across the resort’s fiber- and copper-based network infrastructure. At the core of the system is the Tesira digital signal processing platform, which provides centralized control while allowing decentralized amplification and processing to support scalability and future expansion.

Discreet Desono loudspeakers were selected to deliver balanced, high-quality audio throughout guest areas while blending seamlessly into the resort’s architecture. With an IP64 rating, the loudspeakers are well-suited for both indoor and outdoor environments, ensuring consistent performance across the property. Apprimo touch panels provide intuitive, user-friendly control, allowing resort staff to easily manage audio sources and volume levels in different zones based on operational needs.

The system supports independent audio streams for individual areas, enabling tailored soundscapes for spaces such as the lobby, spa, pool, and dining venues. Live audio sources, including microphones and Bluetooth inputs, can be shared as needed, while paging and emergency announcements are always prioritized to ensure clear communication across the resort.

By combining networked audio distribution, flexible DSP, and discreet loudspeaker design, the Biamp solution delivers a refined, immersive audio experience that enhances the guest journey while supporting the resort’s operational efficiency.

  • Biamp Elevates Audio Clarity in Acoustically Challenging Perth Police Station with Tesira DSP Platform

Biamp Elevates Audio Clarity in Acoustically Challenging Perth Police Station with Tesira DSP Platform

Biamp, a leading provider of professional audiovisual solutions, today announced the successful deployment of its Tesira™ digital signal processing platform at a major urban police station in Perth, Australia. Installed by AV integrator Integrate Perth, the Tesira system addresses severe acoustical challenges in the station’s custodial desk area and holding cells, spaces dominated by reverberating surfaces including concrete, glass, and steel.

The installation includes Tesira SERVER-IO processors, a TesiraFORTÉ AVB VT audio server, EX-MOD modular expanders, and TEC-1i wall-mounted controllers. Together, these components form a high-performance audio infrastructure that ensures critical conversations and events are captured with clarity, even in environments plagued by harsh reverberation and background noise.

“In our initial tests we simply ran some CCTV footage with associated audio through Tesira AEC processing and had a listen on a little powered speaker. Our jaws dropped,” said Andrew Anderson-King, Sales Director at Integrate Perth. “Environmental noise, such as holding cell doors slamming or yelling in the background, along with the harsh reverberation of the space, had all but disappeared. What resulted were intelligible spoken words. We instantly knew we were onto something.”

With approximately 100 microphones in place across the facility, the audio enhancement dramatically improves the usefulness of high-resolution CCTV footage, delivering a powerful tool for investigations, officer safety, and staff development.

“It’s a big leap forward. The Tesira AEC improves everyone’s safety and is now useful for staff training,” added Anderson-King. “I can see other applications where mission-critical audio is important, but the acoustic conditions are hostile. For example, Customs and the Border Force could benefit, as could warehousing, and the Port Authority. They could all benefit from Tesira AEC cleaning up recorded speech.”

“In high-pressure environments like police stations, reliable audio isn’t just a convenience—it’s essential,” said Joe Andrulis, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, Biamp. “By deploying Tesira, the Perth facility has turned a once challenging space into one where every word can be heard clearly and preserved accurately. It’s a powerful example of how technology can directly support safety, accountability, and operational excellence.”

The successful installation reinforces the Biamp commitment to delivering intelligent, adaptable AV solutions for mission-critical government environments.
