The switchers are available in sizes from 4×2 up to 16×16 to meet the needs of small to large meeting spaces
Extron has announced the addition of new 16×8 and 16×16 models to the DXP HD 4K PLUS Series of high-performance HDMI matrix switchers. They support data rates up to 18 Gbps and video resolutions up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 color sampling, HDR, Deep Color up to 12-bit, 3D, HD lossless audio formats, and CEC. Extron technologies such as EDID Minder and Key Minder ensure optimal system performance and compliance with HDCP-encrypted content. The matrix switchers also facilitate easy integration into a wide variety of professional AV applications, with audio de-embedding and audio breakaway capabilities. These features combined with multiple control options make the DXP HD 4K PLUS Series ideal for applications that demand reliable, high performance matrix switching of 4K/60 HDMI video and audio signals.
“Matrix switchers serve as integral components in a wide variety of AV systems,” says Casey Hall, Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. “The DXP HD 4K PLUS Series now provides our customers with sizes from 4×2 up to 16×16 to meet the needs of small to large meeting spaces. They offer unmatched performance for routing 4K/60 4:4:4 signals and are loaded with features that simplify designs and integration.”
The audio outputs on DXP HD 4K PLUS Series matrix switchers simplify integration with a local audio system. Embedded digital audio from a source can be switched along with its corresponding video signal to any combination of selected HDMI outputs. Built-in audio de-embedders allow signals to be routed to analog audio outputs and made available as line level stereo audio on captive screw or S/PDIF connectors, depending on model. The internal de-embedders eliminate the need for external HDMI audio extraction products. To maintain signal integrity and reliability without complicating the system, they provide automatic cable equalization on each input and independent output reclocking to reshape and restore video signal timing. The result of integrating the DXP HD 4K PLUS matrix switcher is fewer boxes in the AV system for reduced system complexity and maintenance costs.
