CEDIA to Host Virtual 2020 Awards in October

In addition to the individual projects from CEDIA member integrators deemed finalists, winners in Hardware and Software Product categories will also be honored

Lights. Camera. Action! CEDIA is announcing initial details of the 2020 CEDIA Awards events. The global, virtual celebrations will be held October 8, 2020 and will position the finest work of CEDIA members on the industry’s largest global stage in a well-produced, compelling presentation. During three jubilant ceremonies, all eyes from the industry will be on the winners and finalists in each of CEDIA’s three regional awards programs — Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific.

“The 2020 CEDIA Awards will deliver three highly-engaging celebrations befitting the world-class work completed by our extraordinary members,” says CEDIA Senior Vice President of Industry Engagement Giles Sutton.

“As unusual as this year has been, the CEDIA Awards will maintain its long tradition of not only providing a massive platform for premier projects from the industry’s finest integrators and products from top technology manufacturers, but it will also offer the camaraderie and fun attendees have come to love each year… Only this year from the comforts of wherever you are. The efforts behind-the-scenes to bring this show together have been remarkable and we look forward to sharing in the experience.”

In addition to the individual projects from CEDIA member integrators deemed finalists through the rigorous, industry expert-led judging process, winners in Hardware and Software Product categories will also be honored.

Project categories include: Integrated Home; Media Room; Home Cinema; Innovative Solution or System; Showroom; Auto, Marine, or Aircraft; and Multiple Dwelling Unit Design. Judges will determine cost categories based on all completed entries and entries have been categorized based on their region. A project category for work completed for less than $25,000 will debut this year following meticulous development and suggestions from dedicated CEDIA volunteers.

The 2020 CEDIA Awards celebrations are designed to engage participants and global audience members in ways that go beyond awards presentations: Video elements featuring CEDIA Award winners, industry heavyweights offering sage advice, and regionally-focused CEDIA Awards Happy Hours — featuring one-of-a-kind craft cocktails designed specifically for the events — will also play prominently in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific programs. Finalists will be publicly revealed in the coming weeks.
