Sonnet Announces Steel Mount for Mac Studio™ Computers

What’s New:Sonnet Technologies today announced the MacCuff™ Studio mounting bracket for Apple® Mac Studio™ computers. The MacCuff Studio is ideal for use in businesses, schools, and at home, enabling users to move their computers off the top of their desks, secure them in place under a desk, shelf, or table — or to a wall — and have easy access to their ports and power switch. Sonnet provides easy-to-follow documentation and a drill hole template, plus the hardware needed to attach the bracket to a desk, shelf, or a wall.

What It Does:The MacCuff Studio is a heavy-gauge steel security mounting bracket that secures a Mac Studio computer under a desk, shelf, or table — or to a wall — while providing unimpeded access to the computer’s ports, SD card slot and power switch, and without blocking its air vents. The included locking bar offers theft deterrence without blocking the computer’s use in any way.

Why It’s Important:While a Mac Studio occupies a relatively small footprint on top of a desk, it is too tall to fit beneath many monitors, requiring a user to place the computer where its ports and power switch are less accessible than desired. Also, Mac Studio computers are not inexpensive; when used in places where their compact size makes them a target for theft, leaving them unsecured on top of the desk is a bad idea. MacCuff Studio addresses both issues, enabling a user to securely mount the computer to the bottom of the desk or to a wall while offering rugged security to deter theft without blocking the computer’s ports or power switch.

Why It’s Distinctive:MacCuff Studio differs from plastic mounts and other metal mounts in several ways. A plastic mount can easily be broken and provides little to no security. Some metal mounts either use aluminum instead of steel, or may be easy to disassemble, both properties that make them less secure. The MacCuff Studio locking bar can be secured to the bracket in four ways, enabling the user to choose the level of protection they desire. A provided Phillips head screw may be used to prevent somebody from quickly walking up and removing the computer from the bracket, while a provided Torx® screw (with included Torx screwdriver bit) may be used in place of the other screw to provide better security. The locking bar also includes holes for a padlock and a Kensington® security lock (both sold separately) for the best security options. With the included steel locking bar installed and secured, MacCuff Studio provides theft deterrence on all sides, and its design makes it pry-resistant when mounted to a desk, shelf, or table. To provide convenience and cut cable clutter, Sonnet also includes two adhesive-backed cable management clips in the package.

When You Can It:The MacCuff Studio (part number CUFF-STD) is available now from Sonnet and soon from its worldwide distribution and reseller partners at the suggested retail price of $79.99.
