    Nanolumens will showcase its latest dvLED innovations at ISE 2026 through partner exhibits at Legrand AV and Procella Audio BV. The highlight is the new NanoPanel 55, a 55-inch direct-view LED display that delivers true Full HD resolution in the same form factor as traditional LCD and OLED panels.     Nanolumens, an industry-leading manufacturer and designer of cutting-edge LED displays and solutions, will showcase the NanoPanel 55 dvLED, the Engage Pro Series and Aurora Processing across two partner locations, Legrand AV and Procella Audio BV, at ISE 2026.

    At Legrand AV’s stand, 3L500, Nanolumens will showcase the NanoPanel 55 display, a dvLED display designed to deliver the benefits of direct-view LED technology in a standard 55-inch flat panel format. Using virtual Chip-on-Board (COB) technology, the NanoPanel 55 provides Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 within the same footprint and mounting compatibility as traditional LCD and OLED displays. The NanoPanel 55 offers reduced power use, high image calibration, in-field repairability, long lifespan and a zero-bezel design while maintaining the familiarity of conventional commercial displays.

    While dvLED displays in the 54- to 55-inch range are not new, the NanoPanel 55 is the first to market with true Full HD resolution in this form factor. The NanoPanel 55 was developed for applications, such as flight information display systems in airports, transit stations, menu boards and command and control centers, where performance, reliability and ease of integration are critical.

    At the Procella Audio BV stand, 2F240, Nanolumens will demonstrate an Engage Pro 0.7 mm display running Aurora Processing. Engage Pro is Nanolumens’ newest cabinet-based display platform. Built on the Engage Series architecture, it uses flip-chip COB MiniLED technology to deliver high contrast performance and reduced surface reflections. The design supports clear reproduction of fine data and visual detail, making it suitable for environments that require precise and legible content.

    Aurora has been engineered exclusively for use with Nanolumens displays, enabling full control of the display system from pixels to processing. Nanolumens’ approach removes common configuration and calibration challenges faced by integrators when pairing displays with third-party processors. Aurora supports 12-bit input and 23-bit output for accurate color reproduction and includes auto-calibration to simplify setup and tile replacement. Aurora boasts intelligent scaling that preserves image clarity without distortion, while a bandwidth-efficient design reduces data line requirements compared with conventional processors. Aurora delivers consistent image quality at low and high brightness levels and includes a web-based Video Wall Manager and built-in diagnostics.

    Overview

    SRI, a leading research institute, collaborated with Sony Electronics to integrate Sony’s Spatial Reality Display (SRD) — a glasses-free 3D display — with SRI’s XRGo robotic telemanipulation platform. This collaboration aimed to enhance operator experience and precision in remote robotic control through stereoscopic 3D visualization.

    The Challenge

    SRI sought to improve the fidelity and usability of its XRGo robotic control system. While VR headsets can be ideal for some implementations of XRGo, headsets also limit the user’s awareness of the surrounding environment and can impact interactions with nearby co-workers. SRI wanted a solution that could deliver real-time, glasses-free 3D visualization without compromising on performance or compatibility with existing workflows.

    The Solution

    To address SRI’s requirements, Sony worked with SRI to adapt XRGo’s robot telemanipulation software for streaming in 3D stereo video. The solution processes video from a 3D stereo camera located on a robotic arm and delivers it to the Sony SRD in real time.* This allows operators to experience an immersive, glasses-free visualization environment, significantly enhancing their situational awareness and control precision. Sony and SRI conducted extensive user testing, with iterative feedback loops to fine-tune depth cues, minimize latency, and ensure intuitive user interaction within the 3D interface.

    The Outcome

    This integration delivered a marked advancement in how operators interact with remote robotic systems. Equipped with real-time stereoscopic visualization through the Sony Spatial Reality Display, operators were able to perceive depth with remarkable clarity, which translated into more precise manipulation and control of the robotic arm. The enhanced visual feedback reduced errors and improved response time, enabling users to approach complex tasks with greater confidence and efficiency. Moreover, the system’s glasses-free design further contributed to operator comfort, making extended sessions more feasible without fatigue. This technological leap not only brought additional capabilities to the XRGo system but also set a new standard for immersive teleoperation within SRI, paving the way for future research and applications in various domains such as remote surgery, hazardous environment exploration, and advanced scientific visualization.

    Mitch Braff is the founder and CEO of LiquidView, which creates stunning virtual windows, anchored by Sony’s Professional BRAVIA displays – transforming blank walls into spaces with breathtaking views.  With a background in filmmaking and a stint in corporate communications, Braff found himself supporting high-end video art for commercial clients through his previous business, Liquid Canvas.  It was during this time that he visited a client with a beautiful home that featured amazing views from the front and back of the house, but the views from the dining room were of the side of the neighbor’s home.  That’s when inspiration struck.  Could a digital window be built on a wall to block the less than desirable view of a neighbor’s house and instead replicate the serenity of whatever backdrop or location a user desires?  In that moment, LiquidView was born.

    Since that fateful day, LiquidView has grown from a simple idea into a thriving business that has enriched the lives of customers across applications and environments – from residential installations and assisted living centers to healthcare and wellness facilities, as well as schools in underserved neighborhoods.

    During Braff’s work with Liquid Canvas, he became familiar with Sony’s display technology, which was a natural choice as he designed his new company’s virtual windows.  Sony’s vibrant Professional BRAVIA displays, including the BZ40L series featuring Deep Black Non-Glare technology, are used in the company’s Digital Windows to immerse viewers in the scene of their choice, converting a drab, closed-in space into a beautiful and serene atmosphere.

    Sony’s BZ40L series of 4K HDR professional displays come in 55, 65, 75 and 85-inch sizes and combine remarkable picture quality with broad compatibility, installation flexibility, and ease of use.  The models feature a state-of-the-art Deep Black Non-Glare Coating that provides anti-glare and low reflection capabilities, while maintaining deep blacks and high contrast – even in bright lighting.

    When discussing his selection of display technology, Braff noted, “I love the quality of Sony’s camera technology and from my perspective, Sony makes the best displays out there.  And the quality between the cameras and displays is consistent.”

    He added, “I appreciated the display’s HDR and HDR10 capabilities, which we found to be true HDR and superior to other displays when we were in the specification phase.  The HDR settings and calibrations can easily be stored on a USB drive and copied onto other displays, which makes installation easier for our partners and customers.  In addition, the displays are built like tanks so we’re confident in using them and know they’re reliable.  You can set them and forget them.”

    With recessed, “InWall” options and mounted “OnWall” choices, as well as a selection of trims, screen quantities, orientations, and various content selections, the virtual windows are dynamic and can be customized to align with a specific aesthetic to provide a tailored look or experience and to match a user’s existing windows.  This is another reason why Sony’s Professional BRAVIAs were a good match for LiquidView.  The displays are available in a number of different sizes and can be portrait mounted, which allows flexibility in accommodating the diverse needs of a project.

    The windows, which employ displays using Sony’s unique Deep Black Non-Glare treatment for anti-glare and low reflection, are then outfitted with tempered glass for customers who want to mimic the slight reflection a window typically provides.  Doing so is one of the ingredients that tricks the user’s brain into perceiving their Digital Windows as an actual glimpse outside.

    Additionally, views from around the world are captured on Sony’s VENICE 2 full-frame digital cinema camera in 8K during shoots taking over 30 hours.  The content is edited into a 24-hour loop where color correction and stereo sound design are added.  On location, over 60TB of storage is needed to record the ultra-high quality content.  The content is stored locally on a media player where patented software synchronizes the content with the location the window is installed and date and time of day. This ensures sunrise, sunset, and everything in between are precise and match circadian rhythms.  By delivering a true and accurate sensory experience, LiquidView’s virtual windows deliver real health benefits and are much more than just eye-candy.

    According to research conducted by Stanford University, participants exposed to LiquidView’s Digital Windows experienced a measurable change in their physiological and emotional state, indicating that the windows have the potential to induce relaxation and provide similar benefits to those experienced when exposed to a traditional window.  According to one of the study’s principal researchers, Jamie Zeitzer, Ph.D., Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, “The initial results suggest that exposure to LiquidView Digital Windows improves mental health and well being.”

    Because the windows run large volumes of content all day long, choosing a display that offered around-the-clock reliability was a key selling point.  Bill Hofmann, Chief Technology Officer for LiquidView, explained, “In addition to top-notch quality, Sony remains dedicated to the professional market, as well as the consumer market. That is a very important distinction because LiquidView’s windows are designed for installation in both homes and offices.  For our use case, the windows need to work 24/7, and Sony’s professional displays are among the few on the market that offer 24/7 support, so this was a critical benefit.  Also, very important to us is the remote manageability of the displays.”

    Another aspect that provided the team with peace of mind was the pro BRAVIA’s strong warranty policy.  Braff called Sony’s 5-year warranty “a really big deal” and indicated it made everyone feel “comfortable and safe knowing Sony will stand behind the product for five years.”

    In addition to five-year warranties, the Sony professional BRAVIA displays also take advantage of a beneficial Advanced Replacement Program, which allows eligible displays under warranty to be exchanged, rather than repaired, in the unlikely event of damage or defects.  This minimizes any potential downtime and ensures optimal performance.

    For a project heavily focused on imagery, seeing the nuances of a picture is of the utmost importance.  Sony’s professional BRAVIA displays feature processing technology that showcases fine detail.  Braff reinforced this point.  “The level of detail on Sony’s displays is amazing.  For example, we have footage of a beach in Nice.  You could see the details down to the sunglasses people are wearing and their bathing suit design because the resolution and quality are so high.”

    One particular installation that Braff discussed was LiquidView’s work with The Inspired Community Project® (TICP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research organization in the Bronx that builds a more equitable, inclusive, and accessible system of care for neurodivergent children – particularly those from historically underserved Black, Latinx, and low-income communities.  TICP operates New York State’s first behavioral therapy daycare model: a full-day, trauma-assumed, neurodiversity-affirming program designed for children who are often excluded from traditional therapy or childcare settings.

    As the organization was looking to develop a new space in the footprint of an old, windowless drugstore, they happened upon LiquidView’s Digital Windows on Instagram and knew they would be a perfect way to create the feeling that each classroom had an open window and view, which would positively impact the students and staff. The digital windows bring the outside inside, and this has tangible benefits for the students and staff. Braff explained, “We were able to transform The Inspired Community Project’s windowless school into a stimulating space with the sounds and views of calming scenes, such as being by the ocean.  This allowed them to lease a less expensive windowless property and get similar benefits to a property that had beautiful views, and was something this life-changing non-profit could afford.”

    Spain’s public broadcaster selects Alfalite NEOPIX for its first broadcast deployment

    Spain’s national public broadcaster, RTVE, has upgraded one of its main television production facilities in Madrid with the installation of two Alfalite NEOPIX 1.5 MATIX AlfaCOB LED screens, marking the first-ever deployment of NEOPIX technology in a broadcast environment.

    The installation comprises two custom LED displays: a 7 x 2-metre curved screen and a 9 x 1-metre secondary display, both designed to meet the demanding requirements of daily television production. The screens will serve as the primary visual background for news, current affairs and interview-based programming.

    The project was delivered in collaboration with Datos Media Technologies, Alfalite’s technology partner, further strengthening the Spanish manufacturer’s presence within one of the country’s most important audiovisual production centres.

    The installed displays belong to NEOPIX, Alfalite’s premium LED family developed for critical applications where image consistency, reliability and long-term performance are essential. Featuring a 1.5 mm pixel pitch, the screens are well suited to broadcast environments that require close viewing distances and precise visual reproduction.

    For this project, NEOPIX integrates MATIX AlfaCOB, Alfalite’s proprietary Chip-on-Board (COB) technology. This solution enhances LED protection, improves visual uniformity and optimises thermal dissipation, while also providing a more robust and easy-to-maintain surface — key advantages for intensive use in television studios.

    A long-term partnership

    This latest installation builds on a collaboration that began in 2021, when Alfalite first supplied LED technology to RTVE as part of a wider studio modernisation programme. In 2023, that programme included the deployment of 964 Alfalite ModularPix Pro 1.9 ORIM LED modules across multiple RTVE production facilities in Madrid and regional centres, in a project also integrated by Datos Media Technologies.

    With the introduction of NEOPIX 1.5 MATIX AlfaCOB, RTVE continues to evolve its visual infrastructure, incorporating new LED technologies designed and manufactured in Europe.

    Unforgettable fan experiences

    As a modern, world class multifunctional arena (including concerts), offering state of the art amenities and an unforgettable atmosphere for its passionate army of fans, the Philips Stadion management team sought new ways to deliver an enhanced matchday and event experience, with digital displays central to its ambitions.

    After 12 years, and with visual technology advancing significantly, the stadium’s existing P16 Philips LED walls within the Philips Stadion no longer met the needs and requirements of the club, nor expectations from fans. Having previously upgraded the club’s corporate areas with an array of Philips signage and interactive displays, PSV Eindhoven once again approached PPDS to find a solution.

    LEDing from the front

    Concluding a number of consultations and stadium visits, the key requirements for the project included uncompromised high quality performance, with maximum reliability and flexibility. Along with this, screens needed to be seamlessly adaptable to various hosted events (beyond football), ensuring clear, engaging displays throughout the stadium. Sustainability was also a core focus for PSV Eindhoven.

    Bringing on board local AV and technical specialist and PPDS Partner, Mansveld Techniek, the new Philips Urban LED 6000 Series was the standout choice. Tailored to meet the exact needs of PSV Eindhoven’s AV/IT, the Philips Urban LED 6000 Series boasts a 6.67 pixel pitch and 10,000 nits of brightness — an epic five times step up from the previous 16 pixel pitch, while also doubling the original 5,000 nits.

    Each wall delivers high contrast and high refresh rates of 7680hz for smooth visual reproduction – including live broadcasting – with more colour subtlety, shading, and saturation.

    Reliable and robust

    With inclement weather in Europe, the Philips Urban LED 6000 Series walls inside the stadium can withstand anything Mother Nature throws their way, with the reassurance of an IP65 rating – resistant to water and potentially hazardous or corrosive airborne pollutants – and uncompromised performance in subzero conditions down to -20°C (-4°F), or extreme temperatures of up to 50°C (122°F).

    Each wall is strategically placed for fans with up to 30 meter viewing distances, rather than the more traditional two videowalls positioned at each end of the stadium. This ensures optimum viewing experiences for fans located anywhere in the stadium.

    Completed in just three weeks, ahead of the start of the 2025/26 Eredivisie season, the new 8m x 4.5m walls also operate with a power consumption of 18kw. This brings immediate cost of ownership savings when compared to each of the original walls’ 23kw power consumption.

    This collaboration ensured the new solutions were seamlessly integrated and tailored to the specific needs of the Philips Stadion environment, supporting the stadium’s reputation as a premier venue in the Netherlands.

    Why IPTV? Replacing Outdated Systems Offshore

    Traditional coaxial television systems had long been the standard offshore, but now they carry some serious baggage: aging infrastructure, dwindling vendor support and extensive coaxial cabling requirements that complicate upgrades.

    “Coax systems were already crumbling ten years ago when we started working with the companies that own or operate the rigs,” said David Leighton, founder of LEIGHTRONIX. “Existing systems were aging out, and support was disappearing.     “TAS can interrupt all TVs in under a second with audio muting, text, video, or forced channel changes,” added Leighton. “Priorities can be set – if you had a coffee shortage announcement, for instance, followed by an H₂S gas release warning, the system automatically overrides any previous messages to the most important alert. TVs can also be grouped by areas – bunks, hallways, mess halls – so each area responds differently to the same event.”

    Deploying IPTV offshore isn’t like installing it in a hotel or cruise ship. Systems undergo rigorous testing by way of multiple design review meetings, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) procedures, ensuring every endpoint, remote, and emergency alert functions as designed before integration on the rigs.

    “We run through several dozen pages of test procedures before shipment,” explained Leighton. That level of rigor ensures stability in places where support could be days away.

    “The payoff is proven longevity. That first rig we equipped nine years ago is still running every day without a single support call. Everything just works – and that’s exactly what operators demand offshore.”

    The synergy between LEIGHTRONIX and LG goes beyond integration, with LG providing the kind of direct engineering support that other manufacturers often fail to deliver.

    “We’ll raise an issue with LG, they reproduce it, and, amazingly fast, they’ll send us test firmware, even for older products,” said Leighton. “We confirm the fix, and they officially release it, then we update everything via the ipMergeNX “over the wire” vs. inserting a USB stick in every television. They’re a huge company that acts like a partner. That’s rare, and it’s one of the reasons this solution works so well.”
