Legrand AV brings Apple AirPlay2 support to compatible Nuvo Players

AirPlay 2 integration allows users to stream content seamlessly from iOS devices to one or more Nuvo players at once

Legrand AV has announced that Apple AirPlay 2 support has arrived for Nuvo Player Portfolio systems worldwide. Available with select Player Portfolio models running software version 2020.2, AirPlay 2 integration allows users to stream content seamlessly from iOS devices to one or more Nuvo players at once, allowing them to enjoy their music throughout the home in perfect sync, and even control playback using their voice with Siri.

“We are thrilled to add AirPlay 2 support to the Player Portfolio’s already robust offering of music sources,” said Gerald Willis, product manager, Nuvo and On-Q Audio at Legrand | AV. “Now, users have the option of making their iOS devices the hub of their multiroom audio systems. They can stream Apple Music throughout their homes, in addition to any other supported service, their iTunes libraries, favorite podcasts, and more. And they don’t even have to set up these capabilities within the Nuvo Player app; they simply choose their content on their device and select the desired Nuvo zone for playback. It couldn’t be easier.”

Player Portfolio devices that natively support AirPlay 2 integration include Nuvo’s new P600 DIN Rail Player and the P5050, P5100, and P5200 Professional Series Players. Other players installed in a system can be grouped with these models to expand AirPlay 2 streams into even more areas of the home.

Autonomic re-acquired from SnapAV, to be lead by founding member Michael de Nigris

Nigris will head up the company as CEO, alongside a core group of original employees, from its Armonk, NY, headquarters

Autonomic has been re-acquired from SnapAV and will operate as an independent company. Michael de Nigris, founding member and former CEO, will lead the company as CEO, alongside a core group of original employees, from its Armonk, NY. headquarters.

Autonomic was founded in 2006 when digital music was in its infancy. Its first product made it possible to playback music via control system touch panels — complete with album art, browsing capability, and many of the music features that seem “standard” today. In 2009, it launched one of the industry’s first cloud-connected digital music servers, and since being acquired by SnapAV in 2016, has launched its successful eSeries product line and re-engineered the TuneBridge app.

“We are increasing our brand focus to provide dealers with the products needed to deploy an advanced listening experience on today’s most popular control systems,” said Michael de Nigris, new CEO of Autonomic. “By leveraging our current technology with a dedicated group of original employees, we can provide significant innovation that will empower dealers to do their best work ever.”

The Autonomic product line will continue to be sold at SnapAV, delivering whole-home audio solutions through snapav.com and local branches, as well as directly through Autonomic. Autonomic products will also continue to be supported by both SnapAV and Autonomic, ensuring the best dealer experience possible.

“We’re proud of the growth we’ve had with Autonomic — re-engineering the app and enhancing the product line to better serve customers has been a tremendous experience,” added Mike Jordan, VP of Audio for SnapAV. “We’re excited about Autonomic’s new path and our continued partnership, and we hope as an independent company it can continue to exceed expectations in music streaming and multi-room audio.”

  • RTI two-way driver now available for Revox Multiuser System

The driver allows operation of Revox via RTI’s line of handheld remotes, touchpanel controllers, and the RTiPanel app

RTI has announced the availability of a new two-way driver for the Revox Multiuser System. With the driver, dealers are now able to meet the demand for intuitive operation of the high-end multiroom audio solution via RTI’s lineup of sleek handheld remotes, advanced touchpanel controllers, and the RTiPanel app for mobile devices.

The Revox Multiuser System provides users with access to innumerable internet radio and streaming services, and allows them to incorporate music servers, CD players, and even televisions as sources. Unlike conventional multiroom audio solutions, the system is built on a user-centric operating concept. Users simply select themselves by name and the system — already knowing their favorites — starts to immediately play their music at a defined volume level. The experience continues throughout the home — fully synchronized and in true studio sound quality — as they confirm their name from room to room. The Revox Multiuser System is frequently being used in private homes as well as in hotels worldwide.

“Many Revox dealers and their customers have been requesting a sleek, modern remote for control over our Multiuser System,” said Jürgen Imandt, Marketing Manager of the Revox Group. “RTI offers the perfect solution. Its remote controls offer the eye-catching design users crave, and the tight integration with the Multiuser System allows any change in the system to be automatically applied to the other RTI controllers in the home. The result is a simply amazing control experience.”

By incorporating RTI handheld remotes into the Multiuser System, users can browse their favorites and adjust the audio source on a completely customizable touchscreen, while enjoying the convenience of soft-touch buttons for access to commonly used functions, such as volume control. The controllers’ integrated grip sensors keep the devices awake during use, while an accelerometer provides instant-on activation.

“Revox’s solutions are known for their excellent sound quality and timeless designs,” said Paul Key, Director of Integration, RTI. “We are proud to offer an intuitive control experience for this innovative approach to multiroom audio.”
