    KLANG Rolls Out KOS 6

    KLANG has released KOS 6, the latest free operating system update for its immersive in-ear monitoring platform. The update brings support for the new KLANG:1 and KLANG:1pro processors, while expanding integration options with Solid State Logic Live consoles, ADM-OSC systems, and Bitfocus Companion. These additions make it easier for audio professionals to manage immersive monitor mixes and streamline workflows across live production environments.

    KOS 6 also introduces several usability and efficiency improvements, including Action Buttons for quick access to key functions, Batch Snapshot Editing for faster show preparation, and simplified network configuration. Alongside performance, security, and reliability enhancements, the update marks a step forward in accessibility with improved support for screen readers and assistive technologies, helping make immersive mixing more accessible to a wider range of engineers.

    The new firmware and its corresponding KLANG:app software support KLANG:1 and :1pro, both introduced at this year’s NAMM Show. The two compact immersive processors bring KLANG’s immersive mixing workflows to smaller and more flexible applications within the KLANG ecosystem. For KLANG:1pro, Dante patching to any other third-party devices can now be handled directly within KLANG:app, without requiring Dante Controller.

    New Solid State Logic integration support expands workflow possibilities for SSL Live users with native control directly from the console surface, making it possible to intuitively add immersive IEM processing directly to the familiar workflow of their console of choice. Also, remote management, labeling, and monitoring of KLANG:kontroller and KLANG:app based personal mixing becomes a seamless and efficient possibility. The integration additionally provides an intuitive interface for configuring routing to and from the KLANG processor, as well as per-channel, per-mix tone shaping EQ control directly within the SSL environment.

    ADM-OSC support enables seamless integration with external immersive audio systems through standardized real-time spatial control; for example, remote control of a single KLANG mix from the master layer of a mixing console that does not offer KLANG integration, but supports ADM-OSC.

    Beyond expanding compatibility and integration, KOS 6 introduces workflow enhancements that improve operational speed and efficiency. With new Action Buttons, key functions can now be placed directly on the main menu for instant access. These include loading mixes, triggering snapshots, or preparing devices before a show. An updated settings screen allows all device settings to be viewed in one place. Configurations can also be copied between devices for faster setup.

    Batch Snapshot Editing enables quicker and more flexible show preparation by allowing multiple snapshots to be edited simultaneously. Parameters including channel and mix gains, immersive panning settings, mute and solo states, and Tone Filters can now be adjusted across several snapshots at once.

    The latest operating system additionally benefits from newly introduced Bitfocus Companion compatibility for KLANG. This enables KLANG immersive processors and KLANG:app to be controlled via Elgato Stream Deck or other supported Companion control surfaces.

    With KOS 6, network setup is simpler than ever before. Not only is there now an easier separation of Dante audio and control networks, but KLANG:kontroller connectivity can be maintained over a dedicated IP setup without requiring VLAN configuration. This reduces setup time and avoids complex IT configurations.

    Meyer Sound is kicking off 2025 by debuting its latest audio innovations at The NAMM Show and ISE 2025. At NAMM, visitors can experience the new ULTRA-X80™ loudspeaker, the award-winning PANTHER™ line array, and powerful tools like Spacemap® Go and Nebra™ in action. With multiple award nominations, including the TEC and Parnelli Awards, Meyer Sound is proving its leadership in audio technology.

    At ISE, Meyer Sound will highlight its Milan-certified ULTRA family speakers, the NADIA™ digital audio platform, and the compact USW-112P™ subwoofer. Enhanced software features and system solutions take center stage, demonstrating their commitment to seamless integration and improved workflows for AV and IT professionals.

    Meyer Sound is kicking off 2025 on a high note, showcasing state-of-the-art loudspeaker technologies and digital tools at The NAMM Show and Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) conventions.

    The NAMM Show: Scalable Point Source Solutions

    Meyer Sound returns to The NAMM Show, taking place in Anaheim January 23–25, showcasing the versatile ULTRA family of point source loudspeakers. An intimate demo room setting will provide opportunities for hands-on experiences of the scalability and performance of these cutting-edge solutions, as well as a chance to hear the new ULTRA-X80™ point source loudspeaker, which is now in production.

    The NAMM Show will also be a stage for the “perfect pairing” of the award-winning PANTHER™ large-format linear line array loudspeaker and the 2100-LFC™ low-frequency control element, which took the industry by storm in 2024. Visitors can learn more about these systems along with the Spacemap® Go spatial sound design and mixing tool and the Nebra software platform in demo room 17106, ACC North Level 2, at the Anaheim Convention Center.

    Meyer Sound is proud to have a strong showing at prestigious award events at NAMM. The 2100-LFC is a finalist in the Sound Reinforcement Loudspeakers category at the TEC Awards on January 23. Additionally, the Constellation® acoustic system is being inducted into the TECnology Hall of Fame, highlighting Meyer Sound’s ongoing contribution to audio excellence. At the Parnelli Awards on January 24, the ULTRA-X80 is nominated in the Indispensable Audio category, and Katharine “Katie” Murphy Khulusi, Meyer Sound’s director of loudspeaker development, is nominated for the Parnelli NextGen Award, recognizing her instrumental role in advancing loudspeaker technology.

    Integrated Systems Europe: Innovation and Integration

    At the ISE Show, taking place February 4–7 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, Meyer Sound will demonstrate ways its innovations continue to set industry standards. Visitors to booth 3N820 can explore immersive audio experiences and the Milan-certified ULTRA family of point source solutions, including the ULTRA-X20™ and ULTRA-X40™ compact point source loudspeakers and the new ULTRA-X80 versatile point source loudspeaker.     NORTHRIDGE, Calif.— HARMAN Professional Solutions, announced that a total of six products from JBL Professional and AKG have received nominations for the 36th NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards. Voting began Dec. 10  and runs until Dec. 31. The TEC Awards honor best-in-class products in the professional audio community, and will be presented at The NAMM Show 2021’s Believe in Music Week, held the week of January 18, 2021.
