As part of our continued coverage of CEDIA Expo 2021, Tim Albright talks with AVPro Edge. The full bandwidth audio-visual distributor showcases their latest 8K matrix switcher.

With 8K televisions being developed, customers and integrators will need 8K solutions to make sure their products work properly. That’s where AVPro Edge comes in.

“We’re showing you how you can upgrade your customer’s 8K TV without having to upgrade their entire system. And you do that by adding a little 4×2 HDMI switch that is capable of doing these higher bandwidths signals but has a scaler that downscales the resolution and does not touch the audio,” said Tom Devine, Direct of Marketing for AVPro Edge.

The 8K solution allows the latest gaming consoles and satellite receivers to connect to 8K televisions and projectors. “What our simple switcher does is it allows integrators to upgrade their customer’s systems without having to rip out a $50,000 audio system that is already installed through the entire house,” Devine said.
