As part of our continued coverage of CEDIA Expo 2021, Tim Albright talks with Z-Wave Alliance. This solution-based organization partners with industry leaders across the globe to provide high-quality products to its customers.

Z-Wave continues to attend tradeshows so they can introduce products to dealers and provide solutions for their customers. “We like to come here specifically to show products because the integrators are here. They want to see what’s the new door lock that will solve my problem… dealers can come here and find solutions and opportunities where you may not find in some of the other control companies,” said Mitch Klein, Executive Director of Z-Wave.

Z-Wave Alliance products have to go through a certification process, making sure they all work with each other. From Jasco in-wall lighting controls to Yale’s latest line of door locks, all products under the Z-Wave umbrella have to work with each other.

“If you are going to develop and sell a product out in the open market, you must have that product certified that it will deliver the minimum type of performance to be intractable with the rest of the devices in the ecosystem,” Klein said.
