Atlona OmniStream and Velocity Solutions Power On-Booth esports Experience

Atlona, a Panduit company, is a leading manufacturer of AV distribution, collaboration, and control solutions, focusing on quality, user experience, simplicity, and management.

Atlona will showcase their OmniStream™ AV control systems at InfoComm, featuring a live gaming environment with a third-party video wall, high-powered gaming PCs, and specialized furniture, and offering Rocket League™ matches for prizes.

Atlona aims to demonstrate the capabilities of their OmniStream 2.0 and Velocity systems in the demanding esports arena, showcasing their reliability, low latency, and multiview capabilities. By providing a real-time, high-quality gaming experience, Atlona seeks to illustrate how their technology can be effectively utilized in various AV environments, including esports, education, corporate, and hospitality settings.

Atlona heads to InfoComm next month with a dynamic, in-booth esports demonstration that accentuates how ultra-fast switching, multiview processing, touchscreen control and more benefit a live gaming environment. Powered by Atlona’s OmniStream™ AV over IP and Velocity™control systems, the esports environment includes a third-party video wall, high-powered gaming PCs, and gaming furniture to provide visitors with a genuine esports experience.

Visitors will find an esports environment with four zones: a Coach’s Station, a Shoutcaster’s Station, Spectator Video Wall, and Gaming zone. One highlight of the esports environment is the 94” by 53” video wall supplied by Just Video Walls. The microLED video wall features a 1.2mm pixel pitch and 8000:1 contrast ratio that augments OmniStream’s multiview processing capabilities to produce a four-way split across the 108” diagonal video wall.

Another highlight of the Atlona esports environment is the Gaming zone equipped with two Esports Evolution Gaming Desks from Spectrum Industries and advanced gaming gear from Logitech G. While in the zone, guests are invited to participate in head-to-head matches of Epic Games’ Rocket League™ and post their high scores for a chance to win one of two Spectrum Industries’ Esports Xpressions™ Gaming Chairs.

In the Atlona esports environment, guests will see how OmniStream 2.0 delivers sub-frame latency from encoder to decoder to power real-time esports experiences, along with 4K/60 4:4:4 streams and ultra-fast switching. These benefits are made possible through its advanced VCx™ codec, which ensures artifact-free presentation of both computer-generated content and fast-motion video. VCx also offers sub-frame latency from encoder to decoder to power real-time esports experiences and other high-resolution video applications in esports, education, corporate and many other AV environments.

Additionally, visitors will be able to see demonstrations of OmniStream 2.0 multiview processing on the Spectator video wall with quad-split and side-by-side viewing modes. This capability is built into the OmniStream networked AV decoder.

Velocity™ AV control touch panels will be positioned at the Spectator video wall, Shoutcaster’s station and the Coach’s station. Atlona personnel will demo independent switching in these three zones with the ability to present side-by-side gameplay action, player closeups, and score board views.

“The success of the OmniStream 2.0 launch has solidified its reputation for reliable and dynamic AV over IP distribution in education, corporate and hospitality environments,” said Garth Lobban, Director of Marketing for Atlona. “We’ve now set our sights on how OmniStream 2.0, with its multiview capabilities and extremely low latency performs in the very challenging esports arena. OmniStream 2.0 is uniquely suited for video distribution in this environment because there’s virtually no limitations on distance or lag in gameplay, and it’s strengthened through Velocity’s flexibility and ease-of-use for touchscreen-enabled management of signal distribution. This makes OmniStream and Velocity the perfect match for high-stakes esports applications.”

InfoComm takes place June 12-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with Atlona exhibiting at Booth C7041.
