At InfoComm 2026, Tim Albright chatted with Jordan Christoff of Visionary about the company’s latest initiative, the We-Cosystem. Built around the open-source Node-RED platform, We-Cosystem represents Visionary’s next step in simplifying control, configuration, and deployment for commercial AV environments.
Known for its AV-over-IP solutions, Visionary is expanding its portfolio to address a growing challenge in the industry: balancing interoperability with customer choice. Christoff explained that many organizations have become locked into proprietary control ecosystems, creating complexity for integrators and end users.
The We-Cosystem uses Node-RED as its foundation, giving customers access to an open framework rather than a vendor-controlled platform. According to Christoff, this approach allows users to leverage existing code, accelerate development, and integrate with a wider range of technologies.
At the show, Visionary demonstrated new Node-RED workflows for discovering and configuring Netgear switches, along with integrations for RDL products. The company said these integrations were developed quickly, highlighting the flexibility of the platform and its potential to streamline system deployment.
Christoff emphasized that Visionary is not moving away from its core AV-over-IP business. Instead, We-Cosystem complements the company’s existing offerings, including its Flex DSP platform, by enabling faster customization and simplified user experiences. Integrators can modify interfaces and workflows without disrupting active audio processing, reducing downtime in environments such as classrooms, sports bars, and commercial venues.
Visionary is also investing in training and technical support to help both experienced programmers and new users adopt Node-RED-based workflows. The company is applying the platform internally across multiple development initiatives, reinforcing its long-term commitment to open, adaptable AV solutions.
