Custom window treatment manufacturer Hunter Douglas expanded its portfolio of fabrics to include exclusive designs from two artists. Textile designer Seema Krish and visual artist Marcie Bronkar have been tapped to provide thoughtfully designed textiles that can be used in numerous shading projects.
“We often hear there can be a disconnect between designers and integrators when it comes to talking about technology in the home, and Hunter Douglas serves as the perfect bridge to open the conversation. Members of our Custom Integrator Program have found that our vast collection of fabrics and designs, along with our PowerView platform, helps designers understand how the shades complete the connected home experience. The new Design Studio line adds another selling point to an integrator’s toolbox,” said Maren Gehling, National Sales Manager, Custom Integrators.
Both Seema Krish and Marcie Bronkar’s collections are fully customizable and offered with a variety of operating systems including PowerView® Automation hardware. Krish’s Artisanal Craftsmanship collection of seven fabrics take inspiration from the different cultures and beauty encountered in her travels.
“I have been fortunate to experience many places around the world, and I find it’s always the light that inspires me,” says Krish of her collection.
Bronkar draws inspiration from historical period artwork and objects and reinterprets them, giving them a modern twist. Her collection will feature highly stylized patterns with nuanced colorways.
“I feel a responsibility to interpret historical design in a modern way, so it can live in a modern home,” says Bronkar.
